About Jonathan Williams, D.O.


Jonathan Williams performs the full scope of Pediatrics from newborns to teens and is board certified in the American Board of Pediatrics. Some of his clinical interests are mental health, well-child exams, and immunizations. He also has extensive training in the diagnosis and management of childhood and adolescent depression. By and large, Dr. Williams enjoys everything from childhood development to rare pathologies.

Jonathan Williams grew up in Davis County, completing his undergrad education at Weber State University and Medical School at Rocky Vista University College of Medicine near Denver, CO. He did his residency at a combined military/civilian program at Dayton Children’s Medical Center and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. For four years afterward, he was an active-duty Pediatrician at Travis Air Force Base in the Bay Area where he was also medical director and deputy flight commander.

His interests outside of the office include spending time outdoors with his family: hiking, golfing, skiing, and waterskiing. Dr. Williams’ greatest achievement is his marriage and five outstanding kids.

About Dr. Jordan P. Steinberg

Dr. Jordan P. Steinberg is a pediatric plastic, craniomaxillofacial and orthognathic surgeon within the Division of Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and serves as surgical director of the Craniofacial Program at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. He earned his medical degree and a doctorate in neuroscience through the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Steinberg then completed an integrated residency program in plastic surgery at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center in Chicago. Following this, he pursued a fellowship in pediatric craniofacial surgery at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. His clinical interests include cleft lip and palate, congenital facial skeletal growth disorders and syndromes, craniosynostosis, ear anomalies, jaw deformities requiring corrective (orthognathic) surgery, ear anomalies and pediatric skin/soft tissue lesions.

Dr. Steinberg is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics and an active member of the following societies: AO Craniomaxillofacial, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics-Plastic Surgery Section, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons, International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons and the Plastic Surgery Research Council. Dr. Steinberg’s work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. He has also written chapters for medical textbooks, presented at both national and international medical conferences and has served as a reviewer for various plastic surgery-related journals. He is frequently called upon by the media to provide expert commentary on topics related to pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery. Academically, Dr. Steinberg has served as a mentor to students and residents and has also held the role of craniofacial surgery fellowship co-director.

Dr. Steinberg is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. Prior to joining Nicklaus Children’s, he served as director of Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Division of Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital offers comprehensive care for children with a full range of congenital, as well as trauma-related conditions. From the management of hand and upper extremity trauma and congenital anomalies, to the reconstruction of burn and other soft tissue injuries, and treatment of various breast pathologies, the team offers consultation and treatment services tailored to each child’s individual needs. Dr. Malka earned a doctor of medicine degree from “La Universidad Central de Venezuela” in Caracas, Venezuela. After completing his medical education Dr. Malka joined the International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Immunology at Georgetown University where he received the International Fellow Distinguished Award in Allergy & Immunology and a Research Achievement Award for Outstanding Research on “Susceptibility Test-Adverse Effects of Smallpox Vaccine”. Dr. Malka completed his pediatric training at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Malka went on to National Jewish Health in Denver, CO were he completed his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Malka is currently a Fellow of the American Academy and American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Malka has published more than 20 review articles in prestigious journals both in the USA and Venezuela. Dr. Malka has earned prestigious awards including Favorite Pediatric Specialist award given by Broward Family Favorites on both 2013 and 2014.

Dr. Malka’s research interest includes food allergies, understanding and managing severe asthma and biomarkers in the diagnosis and management of asthma. About Jessica Kalia, DO:

Dr. Jessica Kalia is a board-certified neonatologist and pediatrician in Weston, Florida. She recently left her full-time job as a neonatologist to open a private pediatric practice where she sees newborns, follows up former NICU graduates, and provides 4th Trimester care services for mothers and babies.

She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and fellowship in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, New York Medical College. She worked for several years in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and was the director of the Neonatal Follow Up Clinic at Reading Hospital in Reading, PA. In 2015 she relocated to Florida and has worked for two of the large neonatology groups in South Florida.

In addition to working at her practice, Dr. Kalia is a member of Meade Johnson’s Speaker’s Bureau and gives educational talks to medical professionals about the nutritional needs of preterm infants. She also continues to work per diem in several Nicklaus Children’s Hospital NICUs in South Florida.

She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in 2007 and her fellowship in Child Neurology at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY in 2010. She is board certified in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology and is pursuing certification in headache medicine.

Dr. Kalika joined the University of Miami Department of Neurology in 2011. While she practices general child neurology, she has a particular interest in pediatric headache and migraine. She is the director of the pediatric headache clinic at UHealth and at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she does Botox treatments for chronic migraines. Her research interests include treatment and prevention of acute migraine in pediatric populations. She also has an interest in pediatric neurogenetics and sees patients in tandem with Genetics at UHealth at Weston.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Kalika enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her husband and two children. She is slowly amassing an impressive collection of geeky dresses with pockets. She is a fan of Florida winters, but not Florida summers.

She is passionate about Primary Immunodeficiencies, especially 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome.     Managing Kid's Screen Time

    Smartphones and digital devices are everywhere. Dr. Jennie and Dr. Dubrovskiy deep-dive into the amount of time spent and what kind of activity (educational, gaming, entertainment) children spend looking at digital screens whether it be the TV, smart phone, tablet or video gaming systems and how this screen time has increased during the pandemic. Discussion includes both addictive behavior patterns with portable digital devices as well as the positive attributes of digital media and the internet during the pandemic for social engagement as well as exploring new hobbies and skills that continue to grow for future digital capabilities.

    The doctors confer about children’s methods of learning and their ability to absorb information through digital screens.     Picky Eaters with Dr. Jennie and Dr. Neal

    Dr. Jennie and Dr. Neal discuss how common picky eating is and how to approach picky eaters from a behavioral standpoint. The doctors discuss how to avoid tantrums at meal time, when meal shakes are appropriate and what to look for when grocery shopping for picky eaters to ensure they have a well-balanced diet and to limit snacking over nutritious meals.

    Dr. Nikette Neal first became interested in medicine in high school when she watched her father’s successful battle with prostate cancer. This led her to attend the University of Central Florida for college, where she graduated with honors in Molecular and Microbiology while simultaneously completing four years of genetics research. Afterward, she attended Ross University for medical school. Her experience there eventually led her to complete her pediatric residency at the University of Nevada, School of Medicine in Las Vegas. She completed this program at the top of her cohort winning the award for “Outstanding Graduating Resident”.

    Dr. Neal began her career at Pediatric Associates as a general outpatient pediatrician. Since then, she has expanded her skillset by becoming an Assistant Professor and Clerkship Director at the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Medicine. In this position, she has received several accolades including the award for “40 Under 40 Black Leaders of Today and Tomorrow”, being featured by the United Way for Women’s History Month, and being asked to speak at a regional conference for the American Medical Women’s Association.

    Last year, Dr. Neal was promoted to Lead Physician for the Palmetto Bay office of Pediatric Associates. She currently serves on the Clinician Development Team and the Clinician Advisory Committee. She loves to sing, dance, read, and serve at her church. She is a devoted wife and mother of two. While she is known for her patience, dedication, and attention to detail for each individual patient case, she still finds time to put her family first. She hopes to continue to use her medical skills in order to further the field of Pediatrics, helping to improve patient outcomes and encourage the next generation of physicians.

    Dr. Sayaka Imagawa, known as Dr. Saya by her patients, is a board certified pediatrician originally from Los Angeles. She graduated medical school from Georgetown University and completed her residency at Nicklaus Children’s formerly Miami children’s hospital. Prior to working at MD Kids Pediatrics she worked in both the Skylake and Causeway offices at Pediatric Associates. In her spare time she enjoys to travel and trying new foods.

    Newborns Do’s and Don’ts

    Episode 3 of KidzDocTalk is all about newborns! Dr. Jennie Berkovich and Dr. Stephanie Urban-Galvez give their medical recommendations for newborns such as vitamin k, preventing gonorrhea of the eye and the hepatitis B vaccine. This episode covers everything from what to expect at the first newborn doctor visit, breastfeeding vs formula, bowel movement concerns (meconium), postpartum depression, preparing siblings for the baby’s arrival, rashes such as milia and baby acne, belly button red flags, baby’s sleep and tummy time, colic and more.

    Dr. Stephanie Urban-Galvez was born and raised in Ohio and attended medical school at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and pediatric residency at Miami Children’s Hospital (now known as Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, Fl). Prior to working for Pediatric Associates she worked at Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Women and Children working in an underserved pediatric clinic. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters who continue to be her greatest teachers when it comes to caring for the pediatric population. Dr. Urban-Galvez is currently at PA’s Chapel Traill Office and her special interest is in newborns.

    KidzDocTalk - Fever Phobia

    In the second episode of KidzDocTalk, Dr. Jennie goes over Fever Phobia. Today we learn what a normal temperature should be, when your temperature is just elevated and when to be worried about high temperatures. When we are running a fever, that is the body’s way of setting off an alarm, a clue, to let us know there is an intruder (infection).
