Suzanne Sevakis' story is a frightening one. Kidnapped as a child by the man she knew as her step-father, and raised as his daughter. They moved often, with Floyd changing their names each time. As the girl becomes a woman, Franklin Delano Floyd marries Sevakis and ultimately kills her and her son.

Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow’s bodies are discovered on June 9, 2020, on the property of Chad Daybell in Rexburg, Idaho. After months of missing person investigations, complicated circumstances surrounding their disappearance, and a string of suspicious deaths, police have charged Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell in the horrific murders of Tylee Ryan and J.J. Vallow.

The body of Margaret "Maggie" Sniegowski is found by a farmer, dumped along a central Indiana highway. Police say the teen had been dead for several days. At the time, however, no one knew who the girl was and it would be 20 years before the 17-year-old was identified, thanks to DNA technology.

Boone County Coroner Justin Sparks said an autopsy ruled her cause of death as undetermined. Sheriff Mike Nielsen said there were indications Sniegowski may have been strangled. The focus now is to find who killed her.

Five-year-old Ann Pham is the youngest of 10 children, but her family felt her so responsible that the parents allowed the girl to walk the few blocks to her kindergarten class alone.

Pham never made it. She had been suffocated, sexually assaulted, and her body discarded. according to police.

Now, thanks to new DNA technology, Robert John Lanoue, 70, a former Fort Ord soldier, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, with special circumstances.

Ex-jailer Vicky White commits suicide as cops close in on her and fellow fugitive Casey White. Authorities tracked down the Alabama outlaws to a motel in Evansville, Indiana. The pair attempted to flee when they realized police had found them, which led to a chase. A newly released 911 call appears to contain the last words of Vicky White. As sirens screech in the background, a woman’s voice says, "Airbags are going off! Let’s get out and run! We never should have left the hotel." Dashcam video also reveals that when the vehicle rolled over, police could see that Vicky was holding a gun to her head. “She still has the gun in her hands,” one officer says in the video. “Finger’s on the trigger.” Vicky White was hospitalized and died hours later. Casey White was extradited back to Alabama, where he has been charged with MURDER. He is already facing capital murder charges in connection with the death of Connie Ridgeway in 2015.

Multiple murders are linked to one man thanks to a young survivor. Sandra Sapaugh, kidnapped by William Reece, throws herself move a moving vehicle and is able to describe and identify her attacker. Reece was sentenced to prison after already serving 10 years for two previous rapes.

Whiles in jail, Reece must conform to laws in his state that say his DNA must be uploaded to a database. That's when Reece is linked to another murder. In an effort to avoid the death penalty, Reece starts cooperating with police, offering to lead cops to the bodies of women missing for years.

Ultimately four murders were confirmed at the hands of William Reece.

The search for Oakley Carlson is still underway. The little girl has not been seen in over a year.

Carlson is just 9 months old when she is placed with foster parents Jamie Jo and Erick Hiles. Over the next two years, the little girl becomes part of the family, but then November 2019, Washington's Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) reunites Carlson with her biological parents, Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson. 9 months later, Oakley is missing but no one knows.

The last confirmed sighting of Oakley Carlson is in February 2021, but the little girl isn’t reported missing until December 2021... that’s when a fire damages the family’s home forcing them to temporarily relocate. A local school principal gets concerned after talking with one of Oakley’s siblings. Oakley’s 6-year-old sister tells the principal’s daughter “Oakley is no more,” that she “had gone out into the woods and had been eaten by wolves.”

Attempted killer seeks help from police. A street peddler wields a pitchfork.

There is a renewed push for DNA testing on the evidence in the JonBenet Ramsey murder case. Ramsey, 6, was reported missing by her mother the day after Christmas 1996. Patsy Ramsey reported finding a ransom note that demanded more than $118,000. John Ramsey discovered the girl’s body the same day in the basement of the family’s home in Boulder, Colorado.

Investigators determined that JonBenet was strangled and had an 8.5-inch fracture to her skull. No one has been charged in connection with the killing. John Ramsey spoke at the CrimeCon 2022 convention in Las Vegas, where he called for an independent agency to test DNA from his daughter JonBenét Ramsey’s case.

Ramsey said he wanted the independent agency to conduct the DNA analysis instead of the Boulder Police Department, whom Ramsey says botched the investigation.

As Lori and Chad Daybell move closer to trial, Tammy Daybell's death is back in center stage.

Tammy Daybell's death is initially ruled natural causes. The seemingly healthy 49-year-old is training to run a 4K race, but Chad Daybell reports that his wife is dead in the bed beside him one morning.

The family refuses an autopsy, but as bodies seem to pile up around the newlywed family, Daybell's body is exhumed. Although authorities have not publicly released her cause of death, Tammy Daybell's children say she died of asphyxiation.

A man released on bond commits murder. A disgruntled neighbor kills a pet.

Still, no suspect has been named in the death of Jared Bridegan. The 33-year-old Microsoft executive drops his twins off at the home of his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner-Fernandez. Bridegan is with his 2-year-daughter as he drives home. On their way home, Bridegan stops to remove a tire from the middle of the road. There's no room to drive around it.

That's when the Microsoft executive is shot and killed by an unknown assailant. The little girl, Bexley, is reportedly in the car for several minutes as her father dies. Bridegan has been in lengthy custody and alimony disputes with his former wife and reportedly she has now hired a high-powered criminal defense attorney. The investigation continues.

Bowen Turner's latest arrest for probation violation means he will now have to register as a sex offender. The South Carolina man accused of three rapes was arrested for disorderly conduct and given bail, but Turner denied bail on another charge stemming from a probation violation.

Turner, 19, was arrested on Mother’s Day and after his arrest, he allegedly called a female jailer the "B-word" and tried to bite off the finger of another. This latest incident happens after a controversial sentence was handed down in April.

Orangeburg County Court Judge Markley Dennis sentenced Turner to five years of probation as part of a plea for assaulting a woman in 2019. The charge was reduced from an earlier charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, even though the victim was willing to testify and it was the third sexual assault accusation against Turner in less than two years.

Ankle monitoring logs show that Turner violated his previous bond dozens of times, visiting golf courses, restaurants, shopping centers and even going out of state.

At his court appearance attorney Jason Turnblad o asked Judge Roger Young to take into consideration Turner's "young age [and] his lack of a prior record before pleading to these charges." Turner also admitted to having an "alcohol problem" that he would like to address through rehabilitation. The judge ruled however that Turner knew the rules of his probation.

A Michigan mother with a history of driving violations is charged after her three children die when Letitica Marie Gonzales crashes her SUV into an icy pond. The Gonzales boys, all under age 5, drowned after being trapped upside down in their car seats, underwater. Gonzales was impaired at the time, under the influence of a synthetic opioid.

The 30-year-old was charged this week with three counts of driving while intoxicated resulting in death. Gonzales crossed into oncoming traffic, hit a curb, and rolled her Chevrolet Tahoe onto its roof in a Holland Township pond. Gonzales was able to get out of the SUV, but her three children drowned.

Gonzales has pleaded guilty at least four times over the past 12 years to driving without a license; she also has pleaded guilty to obtaining controlled substances by false representation, according to a local newspaper.

A motion filed by the prosecution in the Chad and Lori Daybell cases asks that DNA testing be performed on items found the Daybell property. Those items: a shovel, pickaxe, the duct tape that was surrounding JJ's body, and also DNA testing on JJ's fingernails.

What's at issue is consumptive DNA testing, meaning, that when the testing is complete there is no more DNA for future tests. So, there is only one shot at it and that's the reason why the prosecution has waited this long to do it.

Delia Owens' "Where the Crawdad's Sing," a fictional story about a murder in North Carolina, has sold more than 12 million copies and has spent 166 weeks on The New York Times best-seller list.

However, Owens is linked to another murder. The author is wanted for questioning in Zambia about a deadly shooting in Africa in the 90s.

During that time, Owens and her then-husband Mark ran a Zambian conservation center protecting elephants from poachers. In 1996, they were the subject of an ABC documentary where one scene shows an alleged poacher being fatally shot.

Neither the victim nor the shooter is identified. The mystery was never solved.

While Zambia authorities don't believe Delia was directly involved in the murder or the disposal of the body, authorities still want to talk to her about it.

Murder charges were filed against South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh in the deaths of his wife and son. Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were found fatally shot at their family’s 1,770-acre lodge in Colleton County. Alex Murdaugh claims that he was visiting his mother in Varnville, 20 minutes away.

A bond hearing is slated for Wednesday, where Murdaugh will find out if he will be granted bond or not. Also still to be announced is whether or not the state will be seeking the death penalty in this case.

As it stands now, the newly released indictment does not say if prosecutors believe that Murdaugh pulled the triggers himself, but law enforcement sources say that high-velocity splatter on Alex Murdaugh's clothing places him at the murder scene.

Tammy Jo Blanton's body is found in her bathtub by police responding to a welfare check request. Just the night before, September 10th, 2014, Blanton called 911, saying that her ex-boyfriend, Joseph Oberhandsley, would not leave the front of her home. The welfare check had been requested by Blanton's friend and co-worker when Blanton did not show up for work. When police arrive at the home, Joseph Oberhandsley answers the door, covered in blood. Police find signs of a forced entry, and ultimately Tammy Jo Blanton's body. She has not only been stabbed repeatedly, but her body mutilated and also cannibalized.

Virginia Judge Penney Azcarate denies Amber Heard’s request have her defamation trial deemed a mistrial on the grounds that the court seated the wrong juror. Amber Heard’s legal team claims a person not called to jury duty was inadvertently seated on the jury for Johnny Depp's defamation lawsuit. At issue is juror number 15. Heard's legal team says a 52-year-old man responded to a jury summons and was seated on the jury, but the summons was for a 77-year-old man with the same last name living at the same address. Judge Azcarate wrote “there is no evidence of fraud or wrongdoing” during the six-week civil trial, according to Fox News. Azcarate said the summons listed the juror’s legal name but not a birthdate. The juror reportedly went on to list his birthdate on a juror questionnaire. Both Heard and Depp’s legal teams signed off on every juror who sat in on the trial.

Ellie and Angela Green were like many mothers and daughters. Sometimes they argued.

Ellie Green had just returned from Italy, after studying abroad. That’s when the argument happens. Ellie stays with her boyfriend's family for a few days, and with no word from her mother, Ellie texts her father.

Geoffrey Green’s reply says Angela has been committed to a psychiatric hospital and asks Ellie not to visit yet. Over the next three weeks, Geoffrey Green shares no information about Angela Green’s treatment.

Then, on July 16, Green shows up at the home Ellie shares with her boyfriend and his family with news that Angela has died of a stroke in the hospital. He asks Ellie not to tell Angela’s family, who lives in New York.

He will do that, just not yet.

Months passed and no funeral service was planned, no obituary was published, and no one informed Angela's family of her passing.

When they ask for a copy of Angela Green’s death certificate. Ellie goes herself, to the records office to get it. There isn't one... in the entire state of Kansas.

Louisiana mom tells police her child was kidnapped but video surfaces that tells a different story. Car chase turns into assault against Charlotte cop.

Chrissy Powell has not been seen nor heard from since July 5th. That morning Powell is running late to work. After speaking with her mother and calling the office, Powell can be seen leaving her home through doorbell camera footage.

That is the last time anyone has seen the 39-year-old mom of two. Family and friends are extremely worried and have checked travel routes to work, hospitals and jails.

Investigators can't track Powell's phone, however, because she left her phone, and her Apple watch at home. San Antonio police say Powell is a missing endangered adult with a medical condition that requires a doctor’s care and medication that she doesn't have with her.

South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh may soon face murder charges in the death of his wife and son.

According to FITS News, South Carolina's State Law Enforcement Division will present its case to a Grand Jury on Thursday. Murdaugh is already facing dozens of charges concerning financial fraud.

On June 7, 2021, Maggie and Paul were found fatally shot at their family’s 1,770-acre lodge in Colleton County. Alex Murdaugh claims that he was visiting his mother in Varnville, 20 minutes from where his wife and son were killed.

Months after the double homicide, Murdaugh was arrested for allegedly stealing $4.3 million from the estate of Gloria Satterfield. The Murdaughs' former housekeeper suffered a fatal fall at their Murdaughs' home on his property in February 2018.

Alex Murdaugh is accused of stealing insurance payouts that were intended for Satterfield’s family. Murdaugh has currently been charged with 74 counts, accused of stealing money from a slew of clients and his former law firm. Murdaugh has also been disbarred.

Jill Sidebotham and her two-year-old daughter, Lydia, missing after leaving for a camping trip. The invitation to go camping came from Lydia's father, Nicholas Hansen, and Sidebotham's ex. Sidebotham and Hansen planned to return from their trip to Phillips, Maine, on June 30. When they didn't, Sidebotham's family members report her missing.

On July 2, Sidebotham, Hansen, and their daughter are seen on video at a Mexico, Maine, Walmart. No one has heard from them since--not even Sidebotham's 10-year-old son Brayden.

A family vacation to Bali turns deadly. Sheila von Wiese-Mack is found bludgeoned to death inside a suitcase. The socialite's 25-year-old daughter Heather Mack and her 21-year-old then-boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer are charged and convicted by an Indonesian court. Police say Schaefer bludgeoned von Wiese-Mack with a bowl and then he and Mack stuffed her body into a suitcase and attempted to flee the scene. Heather Mack was pregnant at the time and gave birth to a daughter in prison. When she turned two, she was placed with a foster family in Bali. Now, Mack is back in prison this time in Illinois. Mack said she was nervous about returning to the States, and what could happen to her daughter, once she is exposed to the media attention surrounding her mother. A judge has ruled the girl will remain with the Indonesian woman who raised her in Bali.

Atlanta lawyer Claud “Tex” McIver's murder conviction has been overturned by the Georgia Supreme Court. McIver was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of his wife.

The court ruled unanimously that the jury should have been allowed to consider a lesser charge — involuntary manslaughter. Diane McIver died after being shot in the back. A family friend was driving Diane and Tex McIver back to Atlanta from the McIvers’ 84-acre ranch in Putnam County. Diane McIver was in the passenger seat. Tex McIver was in the backseat. As they arrived in the city, McIver reportedly asked for his .38 caliber revolver from the center console — according to one statement because they had driven up on a Black Lives Matter protest, while in another statement he said it was for protection against homeless people.

McIver fell asleep in the back seat, with the gun in his lap in a plastic bag. According to testimony, as they pulled up to a traffic light on Piedmont Avenue, Diane McIver, 64, told her husband to wake up and not fall asleep. Tex McIver fired one shot, which went through the seat and struck his wife in the back. The Supreme Court ruling noted McIver’s contention that he was startled awake by his wife and inadvertently pulled the trigger because of it.

The high court upheld a second conviction for influencing a witness, for which McIver, a well-connected Republican attorney known for union-busting, was sentenced to five years in prison. He has now served four years and 10 months.

Georgia man once charged in violent road rage, now charged with murder. Love interest extorted over $45.

Kaylee Jones, 16, has been missing from her Georgia home for over two weeks. On the night of June 14th, Daniel and Brenda Jones told their daughter good night, but in the morning she was gone.

Detectives believe Jones may have met up with someone she has spoken to online. Jones' mother says the parents had taken the girl's phone, but she still had access to a laptop and in looking at her online activity they found Kaylee Jones had been using an app to talk to at least four men online.

Police say Jones does not currently have a cell phone or any other electronic device on her. The missing teen is described as being 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighing about 135 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair.

College freshman AJ Hadsell returns home for spring break, March 2015. Five weeks later her body is discovered face-down in a ditch, covered by a sheet of plywood. Investigators immediately identify that foul play is involved. Deep bruises are visible on Hadsell's torso and face. Hadsell has been murdered. Detectives turn their attention towards AJ’s stepfather, Wesley Hadsell, as their primary suspect, but why?

AJ Hadsell dies of a heroin overdose, but the family is adamant that AJ did not use drugs. Here is the first connection to the stepfather. Wesley Hadsell has been kicked out of the family home by AJ’s mother due to his drug use, heroin specifically. Then, authorities find suspicious items in his car, including some of AJ’s belongings, as well as duct tape and a shovel.

Police say Monday's holiday mass shooting had been planned for weeks.

Seven people died and dozens were injured as Robert Crimo III fired as many as 70 rounds into the crowd from a Highland Park rooftop. The shooter accessed the roof via a fire escape ladder, then fled the scene wearing women’s clothing.

An AR-15-type weapon was used n the assault, but police say Crimo bought the rifle used in the deadly shooting legally — along with four other firearms.

Kaitlin Armstrong, accused of murdering elite gravel cyclist Moriah Wilson, has been captured.

Armstrong was found with the help of Costa Rican authorities, who deported the yoga instructor after Armstrong entered the country on a fraudulent passport. Armstrong was reportedly in possession of her sister's passport.

U.S. Marshals say Armstrong was staying at a Santa Teresa beachside hostel, an area where yoga enthusiasts and surfers frequent. Armstrong also reportedly had a receipt on her for plastic surgery. Armstrong had also cut and dyed her hair.

Kaylee Jones, 16, has been missing from her Georgia home for over two weeks. On the night of June 14th, Daniel and Brenda Jones told their daughter good night, but in the morning she was gone.

Detectives believe Jones may have met up with someone she has spoken to online. Jones' mother says the parents had taken the girl's phone, but she still had access to a laptop and in looking at her online activity they found Kaylee Jones had been using an app to talk to at least four men online.

Police say Jones does not currently have a cell phone or any other electronic device on her. The missing teen is described as being 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighing about 135 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call Investigator Kim Biggs at 770-830-5916.

Bodybuilder arrested after collecting disability for 5 years. Woman arrested for assaulting girlfriend with a cat.

Investigators say the little boy found inside a suitcase in rural Indiana died from an electrolyte imbalance.

The medical examiner says that the imbalance was most likely due to a “viral gastroenteritis” caused by excessive vomiting or diarrhea. State police are still working to identify the boy, believed to be about 5 years old.

Toxicology tests came back negative and the boy had no severe injuries. Police do not believe the boy was alive when he was placed inside the suitcase.

A mushroom hunter found the hardshell suitcase, which features the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. The little boy is described as just under 4 feet tall and about 40 pounds, with a slim build and a short haircut. Indiana State Police have set up a national tip line at (888) 437-6432.

Kierra Coles was 3 months pregnant when she went missing in 2018. Now Chicago police have released new video of the postal worker. It is reportedly the last known images of the 26-year-old. The video shows Coles walking into her apartment. Hours later, she is seen getting into her car with a man. About 10:42 p.m., surveillance video captures Coles withdrawing money from an ATM inside a pharmacy. Police say Coles exited the business three minutes later. That is the last time Coles is seen. Police eventually questioned a man, identified as a ‘person of interest,’ who is seen parking a vehicle outside Kierra’s apartment. This person has not been identified by police, although Coles' family believe they know who it is. Officers say the man gave several different accounts of what occurred. Again, a person of interest has not been named and no charges have been filed in this case.

A New York daycare worker was arrested for allegedly producing child porn with at least one child in his care.

Investigators say Silfredo Castillo Martinez, 32, has been making child porn since 2011, and they identified one of the victims in an illicit video as a child who attended his daycare.

The NYPD said the child Martinez allegedly victimized was 12 at the time, though they did not disclose when the reported assault transpired. Martinez ran the afterschool program at Lina’s Daycare — which has been closed since his arrest.

An additional police investigation reportedly revealed that the 12-year-old victim was sexually abused at the center. Records show that Martinez’s daycare license was suspended following his arrest. Martinez is charged with producing and possessing child pornography. Police are in the process of identifying additional victims.

Dog breeder held captive for three days, saved by traffic stop. Bank robber stopped by flying tackle.

Missouri husband Beau Rothwell, 29, reports his pregnant wife missing. Her car is found abandoned just a mile from home. Rothwell tells police he last saw Jennifer Rothwell, 28, that morning as she left for work.

Days later, Jennifer Rothwell's body is found in a wooded area along Highway 61 near Troy.

An autopsy stated that she suffered blunt force trauma to the head. The day after Jennifer Rothwell went missing, Beau Rothwell is arrested. Police believe he killed his wife — who was six weeks pregnant — sometime on November 11.

Search warrants alleged that Jennifer Rothwell used the internet to search, “What to do if your husband is upset you are pregnant.” The same documents also stated that Beau Rothwell cleaned up some blood and left a small window to the garage open, despite freezing temperatures, to “dissipate the odor.”

Beau Rothwell reportedly told authorities where his pregnant wife’s remains were located. Turns out Beau Rothwell was having an affair and made a pro/con list on whether to stay in the marriage.

Man released from jail twice, kills girlfriend. Drug smugglers used baby car seats to move large amount of drugs.

Geologist Daniel Robinson drives away from his worksite west of Phoenix, Arizona, and is never seen again. David Robinson, who lives in South Carolina, has been in Arizona leading searches himself after his son's Jeep was found by a rancher found.

The blue, 2017 Jeep Renegade was discovered in a remote, shallow ravine on his property, rolled over and on its side. The vehicle’s airbags were deployed, and authorities said the evidence shows that Robinson was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The rancher, who runs cattle in the area, says the vehicle was not there just three days before. The private detective hired by Robinson’s father, David, says he believes the crash “looked like a stage event to me.”

Data shows after the airbags were deployed, someone turned the Jeep's ignition over at least 46 more times.

An Indiana woman is accused of using Airtags to track her love interest to a bar, where he is having drinks with another woman. 26-year-old Gaylyn Morris reportedly confronted Andre Smith and another woman at Tilly’s Pub in Indianapolis. The ensuing argument gets all three thrown out of the pub.

Once outside, witnesses say Morris got into her black Chevrolet Impala and drove forward, knocking Smith down. She then reportedly put the vehicle in reverse and drove forward over him again. Medics located Smith’s body under Morris’ car outside the bar. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A mother/daughter team was arrested after a botched Brazilian butt lift leads to the death of an aspiring social media star.

Karissa Rajpaul was undergoing her third procedure, conducted inside a private Encino home. She died from acute respiratory failure from dangerous silicone injections.

Detectives say these two untrained women arrested in the case, Libby Adame and her daughter Alicia Gomez, have been performing these procedures for years.

Community outrage after a Louisiana mom loses custody of her daughter to the man who raped her as a teen. Crysta Abelseth was 16 years old in 2005, when she says she was raped by John Barnes, then 30 years old.

Abelseth became pregnant. DNA tests show, and Barnes admits, he is the father of the now teen child. Barnes claims the sex was consensual. Abelseth told WBRZ that she met Barnes during a night out with friends at a Hammond restaurant and that he offered to drive her home.

Abethseth says Barnes took her to his home and raped her on his living room couch. Barnes found out about the child six years later and pursued custody.

Abelseth pressed charges against Barnes in 2015, but since then no investigation has taken place. And also, now the teen girl is sad her father has assaulted her. John Barnes says the allegations against him are lies. He denies raping the then 16-year-old. Barnes says he thought Abelseth was an adult.

Murder suspect Kaitlin Armstrong, has been on the run for a month. She was last seen at a Newark Airport. Now a private investigator is telling Fox News that Armstrong could possibly be traveling under her sister’s name.

Jason Jensen says that he believes Armstrong is using the alias “Christine Armstrong.” He says he has given US Marshal's information that three days after Armstrong was seen in the New York area, a new driver's license popped up in public records under Christine Armstrong's name, using the address of a Haven For Humanity Wellness center in Livingston Manor, New York.

Haven for Humanity has confirmed that Christine Armstrong is a volunteer for the company and is currently staying at its New York compound. An unnamed camper claimed to Fox News that he saw Kaitlin Armstrong at Camp Haven around a month ago.

Jared Bridegan, 33, drops his twins off at the home of his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner-Fernandez. Bridegan is with his 2-year-daughter as he drives home. On their way home, Bridegan stops to remove a tire from the middle of the road. There's no room to drive around it.

That's when the Microsoft executive is shot and killed by an unknown assailant. The little girl, Bexley, is reportedly in the car for several minutes as her father dies. Bridegan has been in lengthy custody and alimony disputes with his former wife and reportedly she has now hired a high-powered criminal defense attorney.

Jacksonville Beach Police Department has not named Gardner-Fernandez a suspect in connection with the case and Gardner-Fernandez maintains her innocence. In fact, no one has been named a person of interest, and Bridegan's murder remains unsolved.

According to Gardner-Fernandez's attorney, his services are needed  “for the purpose of seeing if steps could be taken to protect her young twins from any publicity surrounding this tragic event.”

Amber Heard has broken her silence over the high-profile defamation suit ex, Johnny Depp, brought against her.

In an NBC News exclusive with Savannah Guthrie, Heard said social media played a big part in her verdict in this case. 

Heard says despite instructions from the judge to refrain from looking at social media, that exposure was unavoidable.

"I think even the most well-intentioned juror, it would have been impossible to avoid this,"  Heard said, adding that she will stand by her accusations that Depp abused her "to her dying day."

Dylan Rounds, 19, has been missing from his Utah farm since May 28. That morning, Rounds spoke with his grandmother, and that was the last time anyone spoke to the farmer. His pickup truck and other equipment remain on the property, but his wallet and phone are gone.

Rounds' boots were found discarded on the farm, but mother Candice Cooley, says Dylan was particular about his footwear and only wore the one pair.

Texas lawyer fired, then chases former boss with a gun.  Man tries to get into home by putting fist through glass door. He dies at hospital.

A little girl's body, burned and buried in the desert of Arizona, is found by a tourist looking for rocks. For over 50 years, the girl is known only as  “Little Miss Nobody” as investigators are unable to confirm her race, age, or identity. An autopsy showed none of her bones are broken and there are no signs of trauma before death. Now a name has been given, Sharon Lee Gallegos, 4. 

Gallegos was reported abducted from her grandmother’s home in Alamogordo, New Mexico, 10 days before her body was found.  Originally, FBI agents concluded that Gallegos was not the child found in the desert, as her footprints did not match the unidentified child’s. Now a DNA analysis proved their initial assertion to be incorrect.

19-year -old Daniel "Danny" Santulli suffers "massive brain damage" after an alcohol-fueled hazing incident.  The University of Missouri freshman was allegedly forced to drink an entire bottle of vodka and force-fed beer while pledging to become a member of the Phi Gamma Delta. 

Santulli reportedly had over six times the legal driving limit of alcohol in his blood.  Surveillance video shows Santulli lying on a couch for hours, with people walking by, even moving Santulli back onto the couch when he fell off. 

Ultimately the teen is taken to University Hospital suffering cardiac arrest. Danny Santulli is now wheelchair-bound, blind, unable to speak, and will need round-the-clock care for the rest of his life.

After seven years, the murders of Russell Dermond, 88,  and his 87-year-old wife Shirley, remain unsolved. Friends go to check on the couple days after the Dermonds do not show up for a planned Kentucky Derby party. The headless body of Russell Dermond is found in the garage. Police say there is no forced entry to the home, nor is the house ransacked. Shirley Dermond's body is found 5 miles away, murdered, and floating in a lake. It's been a year since the bodies of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were found outside their home. No one has been charged in their murder yet, but there is legal movement in another death, linked to the Murdaugh household. Gloria Satterfield, who was Murdaugh's housekeeper for close to 20 years, died after falling downstairs.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh called 911 at the time, reporting that Satterfield was bleeding from her head and left ear.  Satterfield died days later at a hospital. Satterfield's cause of death is listed as "natural" on her death certificate. No SLED investigators have asked that Satterfield's body be exhumed and autopsied.

Satterfield's family sued the Murdaughs at Alex Murdaugh's direction and were awarded millions. Murdaugh instead kept the money for his own use.

An international manhunt is underway for the suspected killer of professional cyclist Moriah “Mo” Wilson. Police say 34-year-old yoga teacher, Kaitlyn Armstrong, was dropped off at the Newark Liberty International Airport just a day after an arrest warrant was issued.

Police say Armstrong shot and killed 25-year-old Wilson in a jealous fit of rage, allegedly for having an affair with Armstrong's boyfriend, Colin Strickland, who is also a top-rated professional cyclist.  On the night she was killed, Wilson was in Austin, Texas preparing for a race. 

Police say she went on a date with Strickland, first swimming with him at a popular pool and then having dinner together.  After the date, Wilson returned to the house where she was staying.  Minutes later, she was shot dead. Police say Armstrong knew about the date because she'd been stalking Wilson. Ring camera video shows the suspect's car outside the house around the time of the murder.

An Illinois mom was killed and two children seriously injured while parasailing, after a storm blew in, affecting the stability of the boat towing the family.

A preliminary incident report from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission says boat captain Daniel Couch,49, cut the towing cable when the parasail “pegged” in a high gust of wind, threatening to drag his boat. This resulted in the parasail and the individuals being drug “through and across the surface of the water” and slammed into an abandoned Florida Keys bridge.

Anastasia Hamilton texts her mom Sunday morning. That was the last time anyone heard from the 25 -year-old. 

After hours of unanswered calls, texts, and messages on social media, Romanello went to Cleveland Police. Investigators pinged the woman's phone near Cleveland Steelyard.  Hamilton is seen on a surveillance video walking with an unidentified man.

Her body is later found in an abandoned house.

Jury deliberations continued today in the defamation trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Jurors asked for clarification from the judge yesterday on a point of content, regarding the headline of Amber Heard's op-ed.

The jury wanted to know if they were considering just the headline or the entire op-ed.

The judge clarified the headline is what is to be considered. And then just 13 hours after deliberations began... a verdict.

$10 million dollar lottery winner convicted of murder. Man claims he was pant less to "clean his spirituality."

Investigators say the little boy found inside a suitcase in rural Indiana died from an electrolyte imbalance. The medical examiner says that the imbalance was most likely due to a “viral gastroenteritis” caused by excessive vomiting or diarrhea. State police are still working to identify the boy, believed to be about 5-year-old. 

Toxicology tests came back negative and the boy had no severe injuries. Police do not believe the boy was alive when he was placed inside the suitcase.  A mushroom hunter found the hardshell suitcase,  which features the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign.  The little boy is described as just under 4 feet tall and about 40 pounds,  with a slim build and a short haircut. Indiana State Police have set up a national tip line at (888) 437-6432.

Deputies are called to a home on a September morning after relatives find the body of Jack Chandler, his wife, Kay, and their daughter Tiffany Ichor, All three victims have been shot multiple times with at least two different weapons.

Investigators say two masked suspects can be seen on security cameras outside the rural home. Minutes later the electricity is cut, and the door to the home is forced open. Shell casings and DNA found in a cap at the scene help detectives narrow in on suspects.

Not surprisingly, it's Tiffany Ichor's former abusive boyfriend, Barry Titus. Investigators say Titus had previously made threats to kill the family. What is surprising is Titus' accomplice, his attorney, Keegan Harroz, is now caught up in a twisted love triangle.

An international manhunt is underway for the suspected killer of professional cyclist Moriah “Mo” Wilson.  Authorities say 34-year-old yoga teacher, Kaitlyn Armstrong, shot and killed 25-year-old Wilson in a jealous fit of rage, allegedly for having an affair with Armstrong's boyfriend, Colin Strickland, who is also a top-rated professional cyclist. 

On the night she was killed, Wilson was in Austin, Texas preparing for a race. 

Police say she went on a date with Strickland, first swimming with him at a popular pool and then having dinner together.  After the date, Wilson returned to the house where she was staying.  Minutes later, she was shot dead. Police say Armstrong knew about the date because she'd been stalking Wilson. Ring camera video shows the suspect's car outside the house around the time of the murder. 

Strickland says he's cooperating in the search for Armstrong.  Armstrong's family says she is innocent.

Suspected shooter Salvador Ramos shot his grandmother before his rampage at Robb Elementary School. Nineteen students and at least two adults were killed. The grandmother is reportedly in critical condition. 

At about 11:30 a.m., police received a report that a pickup truck — apparently driven by Ramos — had crashed into a ditch outside the school. Ramos got out of the vehicle with a long rifle and a backpack and wearing a tactical vest.

Ultimately, Ramos was engaged by two other officers from the Uvalde Police Department but was able to gain entry into the school and began shooting.

Wilson has been shot multiple times.  Police find surveillance video of a black SUV seen outside near the time of Wilson's death. The SUV is tracked to Colin Strickland girlfriend, Kaitlyn Armstrong. Armstrong is now a fugitive, wanted for murder.

Thursday's list of witnesses in the Amber Heard-Johnny Depp defamation battle was a hit parade of Depp's exes: an ex-girlfriend, an ex-friend, an ex-manager and an ex-Disney rep. 

Actress Ellen Barkin testifies about her sexual relationship with Depp in the mid-1990s. She said that the Depp was “jealous” and “controlling” and had once thrown a wine bottle across a Las Vegas hotel room while fighting with a group of people. 

Disney executive Tina Newman testified that she had never heard anyone inside Disney say that Heard’s Washington Post op-ed was the reason behind Depp’s loss of his role as Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.  It's Ellen Barkin’s testimony that could be key.

A Philadelphia family is suing TikTok after their 10-year-old daughter dies trying a video challenge posted on the social media site.

The challenge, called the 'blackout challenge," encourages users to asphyxiate themselves, pass out and regain consciousness, while on camera. Nylah Anderson was found unconscious in her mom's bedroom closet hung from a purse strap. Tawainna Anderson, Nylah's mother, says the video platform is negligent and has a 'defective design.

Nylah saw the challenge on the app's 'For You' page. According to the lawsuit, the company's algorithm sent the video to the 10-year-old. 

Last year, a 12-year-old boy died trying the same challenge. He used a shoelace to choke himself.  Anderson says TikTok is aware of the dangers but has made no efforts to change.

New details were released in the murder investigation of slain Delphi girls, Abby Williams and Libby German. The Murder Sheet podcast made public a redacted search warrant submitted by an FBI agent explaining why there was probable cause to search the property of Ron Logan. The girls' bodies were found on Logan's property. The court documents state that “a large amount of blood was lost by the victims at the crime scene,” meaning the killer would have been covered in blood.

The warrant also states the victims didn’t have any defense wounds, but some articles of clothing were taken from them and removed from the scene. The agent suggests the scene had been staged.

It's been more than a decade since a 17-year-old New York girl disappears during a spontaneous Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Now, the family of Brittanee Drexel can bring her home.

Many theories surfaced on what happened to Drexel, including an allegation that her body had been fed to alligators. Drexel was last seen on video after she walked out the Bar Harbor hotel near downtown. She texted her boyfriend that she was returning to her hotel and was never seen again. 

Now, Sheriff Carter Weaver of the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office has announced that Drexel's remains have been recovered and a suspect is behind bars for her 2009 murder. Convicted sex offender Raymond Moody, 62, is facing murder and related charges.

Three-year-old Dylan Ehler vanished from his grandmother’s backyard on May 6, 2020.  His grandmother says she turned her back for a few seconds to deal with the family dog. When she turned back around, Dylan was gone. 

Dylan’s rubber boots were discovered six hours after his disappearance, submerged in a creek nearby. Despite a six-day official search and hundreds of volunteer searchers, that's the only evidence found. 

The family, in the meantime, began receiving ransom demands. A photoshopped photo of Dylan looking beaten and bruised was sent with a demand for money. Others followed.

Linda Carman and her son, Nathan, set out on a night fishing trip. They don't return. A week later, Nathan Carman is found in an inflatable life raft, but his mother is nowhere to be found.

Now, police say Carman killed his mother and sank the boat intentionally for a $7,000,000 inheritance.

Carman is accused of enlarging holes in the boat, "Chicken Pox," to ensure it sank. The boat's insurer National Liability and Fire Insurance Co., asked a court to deny any insurance claim on the boat following an investigation that revealed Nathan compromised it before the accident. 

The insurer's report states that in "removing his boat’s trim tabs hours before departing on its final voyage, Carman not only failed to properly seal four thruhull holes he thereby opened at the transom’s waterline, but two recent depositions establish Carman enlarged those four holes.”  

This is not the first time Carmen has been eyed for a murder of a family member: He was reportedly named a person of interest in the 2014 shooting death of his wealthy grandfather, John Chakalos. Warrants say that Carman was the last person to see his grandfather alive before the 87-year-old man was found shot to death in his Windsor, Connecticut, home.

Nathan reportedly purchased a gun that was the same caliber as the weapon that killed his grandfather, a multimillionaire developer, and declined to let police know this during questioning. He also declined to take a polygraph test.

Bowen Turner is back behind bars. The South Carolina man accused of three rapes was arrested for disorderly conduct and given bail, but Turner denied bail on another charge stemming from a probation violation.

Turner, 19, was arrested on Mother’s Day and after his arrest, he allegedly called a female jailer the "B-word" and tried to bite off the finger of another. This latest incident happens after a controversial sentence was handed down in April.

Orangeburg County Court Judge Markley Dennis sentenced Turner to five years of probation as part of a plea for assaulting a woman in 2019. The charge was reduced from an earlier charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, even though the victim was willing to testify and it was the third sexual assault accusation against Turner in less than two years. 

Ankle monitoring logs show that Turner violated his previous bond dozens of times, visiting golf courses, restaurants, shopping centers and even going out of state.

Ex-jailer Vicky White commits suicide as cops close in on her and fellow fugitive Casey White.  Authorities tracked down the Alabama outlaws to a motel in Evansville, Indiana. The pair attempted to flee when they realized police had found them, which led to a chase.   A newly released  911 call appears to contain the last words of Vicky White. As sirens screech in the background,  a woman’s voice says, "Airbags are going off! Let’s get out and run! We never should have left the hotel."     Dashcam video also reveals that when the vehicle rolled over, police could see that Vicky was holding a gun to her head. “She still has the gun in her hands,” one officer says in the video. “Finger’s on the trigger.”   Vicky White was hospitalized and died hours later. Casey White was extradited back to Alabama, where he has been charged with first-degree escape. He is already facing capital murder charges in connection with the death of Connie Ridgeway in 2015.

New details in the search for prison escapee Casey White and the female prison employee who helped set him free.  An attorney for the escaped convict says White is mentally ill and likely off his meds — and that’s not a good thing. Dale Bryant tells AL.com that “Casey’s an all right guy” when he’s taking his meds, but when White is off his medication, Bryant says "that’s when things become a problem.’  White, 38, slipped out of an Alabama county jail with the help of rogue jailer Vicky White, 57 — no relation — in an obviously carefully planned escape. No one even knew they were gone for six hours, and by that time they’d already abandoned their getaway car in Tennessee.  Rewards for information leading to Casey White and Vicky White have reached a total of $25,000 — $15,000 for the inmate and $10,000 for the jailer.

German national Christian Brueckner has been named a suspect in the 2007 disappearance of British toddler Madeleine McCann.

Brueckner, 44, is currently serving a 7-year prison sentence in Germany for raping an elderly American woman in 2005.  Three-year-old Maddie went missing from a vacation rental while on a family holiday in Portugal.

The Portuguese Public Ministry, while not specifically naming Brueckner, said that evidence had been uncovered that put a suspect named "Christian B" in Praia da Luz at the time of Maddie's disappearance.

A Portuguese prosecutor in Braunschweig, Germany, has been pursuing a case against Brueckner since June 2020.

JonBenet Ramsey, 6, was reported missing by her mother the day after Christmas 1996. Patsy Ramsey reported finding a ransom note that demanded more than $118,000. John Ramsey discovered the girl’s body the same day in the basement of the family’s home in Boulder, Colorado.

Investigators determined that JonBenet was strangled and had an 8.5-inch fracture to her skull. No one has been charged in connection with the killing. John Ramsey spoke at the CrimeCon 2022 convention in Las Vegas, where he called for an independent agency to test DNA from his daughter JonBenét Ramsey’s case.

Ramsey said he wanted the independent agency to conduct the DNA analysis instead of the Boulder Police Department, whom Ramsey says botched the investigation.

Leslie Ben-Iesau has been missing since April 15. The Sacramento woman tells her family she is going on a date with someone that she met on the dating app, OkCupid. There has been no activity on the woman’s phone since 8:45 a.m. that morning and her family says it's not like the woman to miss contact with her family on her birthday, which just passed.

On Friday, surveillance camera images appear to show Ben-Iesau near the Orchid Thai Restaurant & Bar in Sacramento. She then can be seen walking toward the University of Beer bar on 16th Street. The person Leslie was reportedly meeting went by the name Bea.

Leslie was reportedly last seen in the Freemont Park area wearing ripped jeans, a t-shirt, and a brown leather backpack.

Corrections officer Vicky White helped murder suspect Casey Cole escape, according to Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton. Singleton joined Crime Stories today saying what's not known is if Vicky White did it willingly. Singleton pointed out Vicky White broke several protocols to facilitate this escape.

Casey White, (no relation) who was serving a 75-year prison sentence for a multi-day, multi-state string of violent crimes in 2015, was also awaiting trial on capital murder charges. Friday — the day of the escape — was supposed to be Vicky White’s last day of work, as she had recently put in for retirement and sold her house.

A warrant for Vicky White’s arrest charging her with assisting in the escape has been issued. US Marshals have offered a $5,000 reward offered for information leading to her arrest.

Florida couple kills witness testifying against them in drug sting.  Arizona sheriff candidate arrested on multiple charges.

Sherri Papini admits her 2016 kidnapping was a hoax. The 39-year-old mom was reported missing on November 2,  and told investigators when she was found 22 days later that a pair of Hispanic women kidnapped her at gunpoint.  Papini said her kidnappers abused her and then shoved her out of a car. Papini  was emaciated, her hair was cut shorter, and she had cuts and bruises all over her body, but prosecutors said she caused the injuries herself. The case was broken in 2020 when DNA led investigators to Papini’s ex, who told them she had been with him the entire time.  Federal prosecutors charged Papini with 34 counts of mail fraud and one count of making false statements. Papini accepted a plea deal, but didn't explain why she created an elaborate kidnapping hoax, although she apologized for her actions.  Since her arrest, Papini's husband has started divorce proceedings.

High-velocity splatter found on a shirt worn by disgraced attorney Alex Murdaugh may show he was present at the time his wife and son were murdered.   FITSNews is reporting their inside sources are saying that multiple forensics experts, including one at an out-of-state lab,  confirm the preliminary analysis of a significant amount of high-velocity spatter from at least one of their bodies. Alex Murdaugh has since been charged with multiple financial crimes and faces numerous civil lawsuits, since Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were found dead. He's even been named a person of interest, but not a suspect, so far.  Sources close to the investigation told FITSNews that multiple shots from a high-powered rifle killed Maggie Murdaugh, including one that went through her back and another into the back of her head as she was face down on the ground. Paul Murdaugh’s death certificate said the he had two shotgun wounds: one to the head and the other to the chest. At least one of the guns used in the murders belonged to the Murdaugh family. Alex Murdaugh’s attorney has repeatedly said that his client’s whereabouts are “accounted for completely.”

An arrest in the death of 10-year-old Illiana “Lily” Peters. Police announcing a teen, known to Peters is in custody and is scheduled for his first court hearing today. Peters disappeared after visiting with her aunt, who lives near the little girl. Her body was found in a wooded area along a walking trail between Peters home and the aunt's. The girl's father contacted police at around 9 p.m. Sunday and reported that no one could find her.

17-year-old cheerleader, Carla Walker, and her boyfriend Rodney McCoy,  quarterback on the football team, are the poster couple for high school sweethearts. The couple attends a Valentine’s Day dance at  Western Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

After the dance, the couple hangs out with friends and then stops quickly at Ridglea bowling alley for a bathroom break, but when they get back in the car,  the unthinkable happens. Carla is in the passenger’s seat when someone jerks the door open.

Carla is pulled out of the car.  Rodney McCoy is pistol-whipped and knocked unconscious.  When McCoy wakes up, Walker is gone and McCoy is bleeding from his head. It's been nearly six months since mom of three, Melissa Trumpy has been seen. Her disappearance came shortly after she and her boyfriend at the time, 35-year-old Derek Hammer, were arrested at Trumpy’s home in Monticello, Wisconsin, for drug-related crimes.  Trumpy had reportedly agreed to cooperate with investigators and serve as a witness against Hammer.  Since Trumpy went missing, Hammer was arrested for alleged bail jumping.  Hammer served prison time in Nevada for battery by strangulation and possession of an explosive device, according to prison records. Authorities have not named Hammer as an investigative target in Trumpy’s disappearance.

Slain New York mother Orsolya Gaal's handyman/lover arrested for her murder. Police say Gaal and David Bonola had a two-year affair,  which had recently ended. The tension between the two was enough that Gaal reportedly posted a hand-written note to 'GET A NEW HANDYMAN'  on the refrigerator.  Chief James Essig says Bonola arrived at Gaal’s home between 12:30 a.m. and 12:40 a.m. on April 16.   An argument broke out, which continued in the basement where Gaal was stabbed with a knife from her own kitchen.  Police believe the suspect then stuffed Gaal in her son’s hockey bag.  Investigators searched the suspect’s garbage and found a bloody pair of work boots and other bloodied items.

Murder charges against Suzanne Morphew's husband, Barry,  have been dismissed.  The Colorado mom has been missing since Mother's Day of 2020. Prosecutors filed a motion to dismissed without prejudice — meaning charges can be refiled at a later date. Police claim they are close to finding Suzanne Morphew's body, but the weather and snowpack are delaying searches.  Prosecutors wrote in their latest motion that they have zeroed in on a “remote and mountainous” area currently covered by five feet of snow, near the Morphews’ home. During an April 8 hearing, the judge barred 12 of the prosecution’s 14 witnesses from testifying as expert witnesses. Prosecutors wrote in Tuesday’s motion that some of their strongest evidence — phone and GPS data in addition to truck data — was also excluded from Barry Morphew’s planned trial.

Actor Johnny Depp's testimony continues in his $50 million defamation lawsuit again his former wife. On Tuesday, Depp testified that Amber Heard has “grossly embellished” incidents in their marriage. Depp told the court that he had never hit Heard and that her characterization of his behavior while on drugs, was inaccurate. Depp told the court that there was “no moment where I would’ve been considered out of control” during his marriage. Depp sued Heard over an op-ed published in the Washington Post. The actress characterized herself as a domestic abuse survivor, but didn't mention Depp by name. Depp alleged defamation because Heard’s claims covered the time they were married.

A 51-year-old mom of two, stabbed nearly 60 times, found stuffed inside a duffel bag in her Forest Hills neighborhood. A half-mile long blood trail led police to the home Gaal shared with her husband and teen sons. The husband and older son were reportedly out of town on a college campus visit. Police say Orsolya Gaal spent her Friday afternoon with friends at a backyard party, before telling her teen son that she was meeting friends. Police say the woman is seen on surveillance video sitting in a Queens' bar, alone, for nearly an hour. Then at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, a security video captured a man rolling the bloody duffel bag down Juno Street. A man walking his dogs found the body. Gaal’s husband says he received a text message threatening him and his children prior to the murder. Whoever sent the text claimed they had been jailed or imprisoned at some point in the past because of Gaal. The suspect allegedly threatened to kill the entire family if the police were contacted. No suspect names have been released and no arrests have been made in the case.

Qinxuan Pan, the man accused in the shooting death of a Yale graduate student, will soon get his day in court. Pan is charged with murder and larceny in connection with the death of Kevin Jiang. The 26-year-old graduate student at Yale’s School of the Environment, was also an Army veteran and had recently become engaged to be married. That marriage announcement is thought to be the motive behind the shooting. Jiang's fiance and Pan were both affiliated with Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Zion Perry and Pan were photographed speaking together at a university swing dance in March 2020.

The search for Nikki Wilhoite begins after a friend calls police when Wilhoite didn't show up for work. A Boone County deputy conducts a welfare check at the Lebanon farm owned by Wilhoite and her husband. Andrew Wilhoite says he last saw his wife around 11pm the night before, sleeping on their couch. He says the couple had a fight. Wilhoite says that sometimes his wife leaves the house when the couple argues, but she usually returns the next morning. As police search the farm, they find Nikki’s purse inside a car parked in the garage. What happened to Nikki Wilhoite?

Three South Carolina teen girls accuse the same man of raping them. Bowen Turner is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, but the outcome in this case has caused much outcry. While awaiting trial, Turner is held on house arrest with ankle monitoring. Court documents state that if Turner violates his bond, he is to be immediately taken into custody, but reports show that Turner violated that order more that 50 times, even crossing state lines without being taken into custody. One case was dropped when the victim died. In facing the other charges, Turner accepted a plea deal. He pleads guilty as a youthful offender to first-degree assault and battery. At sentencing, Turner is given five years of probation, and does not have to register as a sex offender. As long as Turner follows the terms of his probation, he conviction could be expunged from his record.

Lori Vallow Daybell will stand trial for the deaths of her two children. On Monday, an Idaho court found Lori Vallow Daybell fit to stand trial. Seventh District Judge Steven Boyce ordered Daybell’s release from the Department of Health and Welfare after reviewing three evaluation reports. Daybell has been undergoing treatment since last summer, but she will now be be transferred from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to Fremont County police’s custody. Daybell arraignment is April 19. The two children, JJ and Tylee, vanished in September, 2019. Their remains were found on Chad Daybell’s property in June 2020.

Three people found dead at a Georgia gun range. The owners, 71-year-old Thomas Richard Hawk Sr., his wife, Evelyn Hawk, and their 19-year-old grandson, Luke Hawk, found shot, in what authorities say appears to be a violent triple murder and robbery. Richard Hawk, Luke’s father, drove to the shooting range to check on his son and parents when they did not come home. He found their bodies on the floor several steps away from each other. Police said about 40 weapons and a security camera recorder were reportedly stolen. Local police, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are investigating. The Lock, Stock and Barrel gun range in Grantville, Georgia, is about an hour southwest of Atlanta.

Deputies are called to a home on a September morning after relatives find the body of Jack Chandler, his wife, Kay, and their daughter Tiffany Ichor, All three victims have been shot multiple times with at least two different weapons. Investigators say two masked suspects can be seen on security cameras outside the rural home. Minutes later the electricity is cut, and the door to the home forced open. Shell casings and DNA found in a cap at the scene help detectives narrow in on suspects. Not suprisingly, it's Tiffany Ichor's former abusive boyfriend, Barry Titus. Investigators say Titus had previously made threats to kill the family. What is surprising is Titus' accomplice, his attorney, Keegan Harroz, now caught up in a twisted love triangle.

New details emerging in the investigation into the disappearance and death of Cassie Carli. Raeann Carli tells The Sun that just five months into Cassi Carli’s pregnancy, she wanted out of the relationship. On a GoFundMe page, Carli wrote that Spanevelo’s abusive control and manipulation had escalated. The sister says while Spanevelo was not physically abusive, his erratic, rollercoaster emotions, scared Cassie. When Carli disappeared, her father Andrew received a text message proportedly to be from Cassie that the mom was staying at Marcus Spanelevo's home that night, neither the father nor Raeann believed the text came from Cassie Carli. Raeann tells The Sun that Cassie Carli was so afraid of her ex, that she asked their father to bring a gun with him whenever the she met Spanelevo for an exchange.

Chad Read meets with his ex, Christina, for a court-ordered custody exchange. The exchange is anything but civil. The Reads get into an argument which spills over to include Kyle Carruth, Christina Read's boyfriend. It's all caught on video. During the extended shouting, Carruth goes inside a residence and returns with a rifle, telling Chad Read to leave. Seeing the weapon, Read appears to tell Carruth he'd better use the gun or Read will take it and use it on him. Bumping chests, the men continue to shout at each other then struggling over the weapon. When Read is a couple of feet away from Carruth, Kyle shoots Read, killing him. No charges are filed, with police determining self-defense.

Sara Jane Harris and Dr. James Michael Ryan meet at his dental practice in the Fall of 2020. By the Summer of 2021, Harris is not only working for the oral surgeon, but they are now living together. Sarah Harris’ family members began to notice a change in her physical appearance. The family says Harris did not look healthy, and in the following months, Harri's growing drug addiction became evident. What's more, the family believes Ryan was giving his girlfriend drugs from his practice. First responders rush to Ryan's home after an overdose call. Inside, paramedics find Sarah Harris, unresponsive. Various vials of controlled substances, like Ketamine, Diazepam and Propofol are nearby. Now Ryan is charged in Harris' death, accused of providing the drugs that killed her. According to court documents, text messages between Ryan and Harris show Harris asking for different drugs, and Ryan instructing Her on how to take them.

By all accounts, Jordan DeMay was a well-liked, sports star at his Michigan high school. The 17-year-old committed suicide last week, just hours after someone demanded money to keep a compromising photo from being sent to his parents and friends. The extortionists initially contacted DeMay over a fake social media account, posing as a teen girl who sent him a nude picture. Jordan reciprocated. The photo then became the center of a sextortion scam. The perpetrator pressured DeMay to pay to keep the photo private. The teen sent $300. The perpetrator wanted more. Police say the entire sequence of events appeared to have taken about six hours, until deputies responded to the DeMay home just after 7:30 a.m.

The search continues for missing mom Cassi Carli. The 37-year-old was last seen Sunday evening in Navarre Beach, Florida Carli was supposed to pick her daughter up from her ex during a custody exchange at around 7 p.m. Three hours later Carli had still not returned home. Her father received a text saying she was having car issues and running late. The next day he called police. Since then, Cassie’s loved ones haven’t heard from her. Her car was later located in an adjacent parking lot, with her purse still inside. Cassie’s 4-year-old was initially reported missing, but she had been located, safe.

Police have found the body of missing teen Naomi Irion after receiving a tip that led them to her gravesite.18-year-old Naomi Irion was last seen on security footage, sitting in her vehicle while waiting for the shuttle she takes to work at Panasonic in the Reno-Sparks area. The footage also shows a man walking from the direction of a homeless camp and lurking among the parked vehicles. Naomi’s brother, Casey Valley, says that security footage seemed to show the suspect saying or doing something that made Naomi move from the driver’s seat to the passenger seat. Irion was in the passenger’s seat as the man drove away. Investigators found Naomi’s blue 1992 Mercury Sable on March 15 at the Fernley industrial park.Police arrested Nevada man Troy Driver in connection with Naomi Irion’s disappearance. He has been charged with first-degree kidnapping with bail set at $750,000. Driver’s arrest came nearly two weeks after Naomi Irion disappeared.

Arizona police are searching for a person of interest after a deceased newborn was reportedly found in a McDonald's bathroom. Surveillance video shows a woman entering and leaving the restroom just before the baby was found. Police are not saying she is the mother, but do want to question her. The Phoenix Fire Department pronounced the baby boy dead after responding to a call at a Phoenix McDonald’s. An autopsy is pending. The woman in the surveillance footage was wearing a black Calvin Klein shirt, black pants, and sandals. Pamela Smart will not be getting out of prison. For the third time, the convicted murderer requested a hearing for a sentence reduction and for the third time, the request has been denied. Smart's request was rejected in a 5-0 vote by a New Hampshire state council. Even though Smart denied plotting to kill her husband, she was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and other crimes, and sentenced to life without parole. Gregory Smart was shot and killed by a15-year-old student with whom Pamela smart was having an affair. Smart was 22 and working as a high school media coordinators.

19-year-old Kaitlin Benjamin-Olsen looks like a typical 19-year-old. She has hazel eyes, strawberry-blond hair and wears glasses, but despite her age and appearance, Kaitlin has the mentality of someone much younger. She is mentally disabled. In the first week of February, Kaitlin and her 21-year-old brother met a man at their local Family Dollar Store in Fayetteville North Carolina. Kaitlin's mother, Lisa Benjamin, says she believes her daughter met the man on Instagram. The only thing Lisa knows about the man is his first name, Chris. It's believed that Kaitlin left her home in the middle of the night, lured from her home. Her mother believes the man made promises to Kaitlin to convince her to leave. Law Enforcement says Kaitlin's phone pinged in Miami on February 7th or February 8th and in Orlando, Florida on February 15th. Kaitlin hasn't been heard from since.

Todd Mullis calls 911 as he drives his wife to an Iowa hospital. Amy Mullis was found by the couple's 13-year-old son, impaled on a corn rake and does not survive her injuries. An autopsy is completed and the forensic pathologist finds not four puncture wounds in Mullis' back, but six. The corn rake Todd Mullis says his wife fell on, only has four tines. Also, while Mullis told police he had a good relationship with his wife, investigators learn that Amy was apparently unhappy in the marriage and had at least two affairs. She reportedly told a friend that if Mullis caught her he would “throw her to the pigs.” Court documents showed Amy Mullis called a friend petrified and screaming that Todd Mullis had found out about her affair. Todd Mullis is arrested and convicted of killing his wife.

A rancher finds Gabriel Quintanilla beaten, in a field outside McAllen, Texas. The 42-year-old dies of blunt force trauma to the head. An investigation uncovers a warrant for Quintanilla on charges of continuous sexual assault of a child and assault, family violence. This is after Quintanilla's 9-year-old daughter accuses him of inappropriately touching her.

Police said the girl's teen stepbrothers, Christian, and Alejandro Trevino, learn of the accusations and confront Quintanilla, leading to a fight. Quintanilla reportedly then left the area on foot. A second fight occurred when Christian Trevino allegedly chased Quintanilla.

At some point, Alejandro Trevino arrived in a car driven by friend Juan Eduardo Melendez, 18. The two other teens reportedly joined in on the attack. Quintanilla was then attacked a third time. Police believe brass knuckles were used. The teens put Quintanilla in the bed of the truck, then drive him to the open field where he is dumped.

Barbara Maier Gustern was shoved from behind outside her Chelsea residence. Friends found the well-known and beloved voice coach in the apartment lobby covered in blood. A bicyclist spotted the injured 87-year-old on the street and brought her in. Gustern hit her head during the attack and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. She ultimately passed away from her injuries after being placed on life support. Now, a New York woman is facing manslaughter charges. Police released security footage of the incident, which showed Lauren Pazienza reportedly shoving Gustern before running away. Police, also say the suspect returned to watch, as the victim was carried away by ambulance. Police had been looking for Pazienza for weeks when she arrived at the police station Tuesday with her lawyer and turned herself in. Pazienza reportedly hid at her parents’ house. So far, no motive for the attack is known.

In May 1983, Stephen Hynes and fiancee', Catherine Moore, are toasting their engagement with champagne and a cookout on the patio of her apartment. The couple is ambushed by Henry Albert Hamilton and Michael Fortson. Both men are armed with pistols and came through bushes onto the patio, something they had been doing often. In fact, the men had ambushed and robbed three others that night alone. As the men try to force the couple inside, Hynes and Moore run away, but the couple trip. Moore gets up and keeps running but looks back and sees Fortson shoot her fiancee'. Moore runs to a neighbor's apartment and calls police. Hynes, who is shot twice, dies before police arrive. Now, will these perpetrators get parole?

Twenty years ago, the discovery of a human skull would reveal one of Georgia’s most gruesome and bizarre crimes. More than 300 decomposing bodies were found discarded on the grounds of the Tri-State Crematory. Located in the mountains of northwest Georgia, the facility serviced funeral homes in Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama. An investigation revealed the abused could have been going on as long as the mid-1990's. The owenr, Ray Brent Marsh, ultimately served 13 years in prison for multiple charges including abusing a corpse, burial service-related fraud and theft by deception. 25-year-old Nicole Sinkule slept while her boyfriend plotted to kill her. Eric Marum hit her with a claw hammer more than a dozen times. Marum pled guilty and received a sentence of 16 years to life in prison. In November, two members of the California Board of Parole granted him a recommendation for parole. One member voted against parole. Now Nicole's parents are asking Governor Gavin Newsom to deny the recommendation. Newsom has three options. If he takes no action, Marum will be released. If Newson reverses the decision, Marcum will receive another hearing in 18 months. The last option is to refer the decision back to the board for the members to modify their decision. The Sinkules have also started a petition to reverse the parole recommendation.

Empire co-star Jussie Smollett is out of jail while attorneys appeal his conviction for lying to police about a hate crime attack against him. Smollett began serving his 150 day sentence last week, even as he steadfastly denies paying two men he knew to stage the attack, as a special prosecutor contends. Days after the actor began his sentence, Smollett was put into protective custody in the Cook County Jail, and then his brother, Jocqui Smollett, and his attorneys claimed that he had been put into the “psyche ward” because of fears of self-harm. Cook County police said the Smollett was being housed in an area for inmates who need extra treatment for mental health issues but said it was also used for “extra monitoring.” Smollett’s attorneys asked the court to release the actor pending appeal, arguing that he would complete the sentence by the time the process was completed. They also cited homophobic threats received by the actor in their request for emergency release. The special prosecutor responded to the motion by saying it was “factually incorrect.” Two of the three members of the appellate court agreed with Smollett’s attorneys and said he could be released after posting $150,000 personal recognizance bond, which means he won’t put up any money but must guarantee he appears in court as required. Appellate Justices Thomas Hoffman and Joy Cunningham signed the order and Maureen Connors dissented.

Gabby Petito's parents say Christopher and Roberta Laundrie knew their son, Brian, murdered his girlfriend. Petito and Laundrie were on a cross-country road trip last year when Gabby went missing. Her body was later found in Wyoming, and her death ruled homicide by strangulation. Laundrie returned to his parents' Florida home, alone, driving a van owned by Petito. The FBI says Laundrie confessed to killing Petito in a notebook found with his belongings. The Petito family accuse the Laundries of concealing information a bout their daughter's death and, say the Laundries also tried to hide their son from law enforcement. Brian Laundrie committed suicide in a nature reserve in Florida.

A Colorado teen saves for months to pay for breast augmentation, but lapses into a coma after being placed under anesthesia. Emmalyn Nguyen, 18, suffered a cardiac arrest after being placed under by nurse anesthetist Rex Meeker. 911 was not call for at least five hours. Nguyen was left brain-dead and died 14 months later. Plastic surgeon Dr. Geoffrey Kim, 52, turned himself in to Arapahoe County sheriff’s officials, charged with manslaughter. Meeker is also facing a felony reckless manslaughter charge.

A connection is made between Alexis Hale, 17, and Jerradon Phelps, 19. Phelps received a message from his cousin, Kevin Lewis. That message from Kevin Lewis, 34, asked Phelps is he would kill Lewis' ex-wife, Amanda Canales. Lewis expected his ex to be home, not knowing she was out of town on business. Canales-McGuire was watching her nieces and nephew.

Madelyn Allen, 19, went missing from Snow College. Video captured the teen leaving school but not dressed for cold weather. After five days Allen was found chained in a “coal storage” area of a home, completely naked and covered with coal dust. 39-year-old Brent Brown is arrested, charged with aggravated kidnapping, object rape, rape and obstruction of justice. Brown is also accused of tying Allen up and throwing away her phone. Police say Brown and Allen had been conversing in a KIK messaging app group chat, with Brown arranging to pick up the young woman, but she wasn't allowed to leave. Brown did allow Allen to text her parents one time, but threatened to kill Allen and her family if she told anyone. That text message was traced. Police narrowed their search to a home where Brown lived. Officers noticed a female peering out of a basement window. Officers were not allowed to search the premises at first. but Brown’s parents later gave police permission, resulting in Allen's rescue.

Joel Guy Sr., 61, and Lisa Guy, 55, were stabbed to death inside their Knoxville home following Thanksgiving. Prosecutors said Joel Guy, Jr., 28, killed his parents after they informed him they planned to retire and would be cutting him off financially.

Guy Jr. stabbed his father at least 42 times and his mother at least 30 times. He then dismembered their bodies and put their arms, torsos, and legs in plastic bins containing corrosive chemicals in an attempt to dissolve them.

Court testimony revealed that Guy, Sr.’s head was placed facedown in the corrosive chemicals. Guy, Jr. also decapitated his mother and put her severed head in a covered stockpot — which he then placed on a burning stove. The couple’s bodies were discovered the following Monday after Lisa Guy failed to come to work. Guy, Jr. was sentenced to two life sentences, consecutively with an additional four years for abuse of a corpse.

Angel Nichole Overstreet is reported missing on May 25, 2021. The West Virginia infant was reportedly with her father the last time she was seen, but Shannon Overstreet, 38, reportedly told investigators that he turned the baby over to Children’s Protective Services.

Huntington Police say the baby isn't in the agency's custody. Detectives executed search warrants for Overstreet’s vehicle, his mother’s home in Huntington, West Virginia, and his residence in Kentucky with no leads.

Investigators are in contact with the infant’s mother, who is not considered a suspect in her child’s disappearance. Angel is described as a white infant with blue eyes and dark red hair. She has a strawberry-shaped birthmark on the back of her neck. She is now over a year old.

Reeves is charged with second-degree murder and aggravated battery, but claims self-defense, telling a jury that he was "in fear of being attacked. " Now, a Florida jury has acquitted retired Florida police captain Curtis Reeves.

The husband of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins says comments made by Rust actor/producer Alec Baldwin makes him angry. Matthew Hutchins spoke out publicly for the first time to the Today Show. Hutchins said he “felt so angry” watching Baldwin claim he was not responsible for the 42-year-old mother’s death.. Halyna Hutchins died on the Santa Fe set of Rust after the gun Baldwin was handling fired a live round, hitting her and the film’s director Joel Souza. He suffered non-fatal injuries. Baldwin said in an ABC interview that he was told the gun was “cold,” meaning it did not contain any live bullets. Matthew Hutchins says he finds the idea that the person holding the gun is not responsible, absurd. The Hutchins family has filed a lawsuit against the film production.

An arrest was made in the death of a former politician’s daughter during a home invasion last week. Kentucky State Police spotted suspect Shannon Gilday, 23, walking along Barnes Mill Road near I-75. Gilday is accused of breaking into Welsey Morgan's multi-million dollar home after climbing scaffolding set up for home repairs. Attorney Jordan Morgan, 32, was shot as she slept in bed. The victim’s father reportedly suffered non-lethal injuries after exchanging gunfire with Gilday.

Gilday fled the scene in a vehicle. Wesley Morgan has been quoted as saying he believes a “doomsday-style” bunker at their mansion may have made their home a target. Shannon Gilday's mother says her son "has not been of sound mind the last couple of weeks, distraught with the certainty a nuclear war is imminent."

Police have not confirmed that motive. Gilday is now charged with murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree assault, and attempted murder.

The release of autopsy and forensic reports for Brian Laundrie provides an interesting study in forensics. When Laundrie, 23, was found dead of an apparent suicide, police had been searching for him in connection to the death of his girlfriend Gabby Petito. The newly-released documents show that Laundrie’s “skeletal remains and personal effects were in plain sight and scattered upon the dirt ground.” Details also show that the area had been underwater, which could explain why investigators did not discover the remains sooner. The documents strongly indicate Laundrie died quite some time before his body was found, as there was no soft tissue left on the skeleton. There was also indication of animal activity characterized by gnawing and chewing. Investigators reportedly believe that wild dogs, coyotes, and/or vermin were among the animal predators that disturbed the remains. The medical examiner’s report shows that Brian Laundrie killed himself with a single-bullet, which entered his skull on the left side. Anthony Rodriguez is lucky to be alive after a brutal attack left him with a gunshot wound. The Wisconsin waiter was working the overnight shift at a George Webb restaurant in Wauwatosa when two sisters, Bryanna and Breanta Johnson, both 20, and two other women became impatient with their service. When they received their order, the twins complained a hamburger was missing. The situation become volatile and the women were asked to leave. Breanta Johnson walks outside, then returns to the restaurant with a gun, according to an arrest warrant. At some point, Breanta Johnson handed the gun to her sister, who shot Rodriguez in the face. While he was on the floor, the suspects allegedly began kicking the victim in the face. The sisters arrested on charges of attempted homicide. Charges pending on the other two women.

Comedian Bob Saget’s autopsy shows head trauma caused the actor’s death. Saget’s family revealed that officials had “concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep” while on tour. The autopsy shows Saget had fractured his skull which caused bleeding on the brain.

A security guard found the 65-year-old “tucked in bed” and unresponsive when his family, hadn’t heard from him and contacted the hotel. Saget’s key card showed that he returned to his room at about 2:20 a.m. Dr. Joshua Stephany, the chief medical examiner of Orange and Osceola counties, attributed Saget’s injuries to a fall.

The trauma caused veins in Saget’s brain to rupture, which then caused blood to pool, creating pressure on the hemispheres of the brain. Stephany found no other injuries and ruled the death accidental. The actor had no illegal drugs in his system, but there were signs of prescription drugs used to treat depression and panic attacks.

Stephany found no indication that either drug contributed to Saget’s death. The autopsy report further found that Saget had an enlarged heart and that he showed signs of the coronavirus on a PCR test.

Justin has been following 15-year-old Majury for months, hounding her for pictures, even paying friends for info.

As the weeks progress, the requests for "explicit content" grow. Majury blocks Justin. When he arrives at her doorstep, Ava's father, a retired policeman, shoots and kills the stalker.

Christine Spicuzza’s body is found in a wooded area after being reported missing by her fiancée. The 38-year-old mother of four went missing while working as an Uber driver. Spicuzza was reported missing on February 11, and her body found the next day. Dash cam video shows Calvin Crew, her fare, can be seen pulling a gun on her 10 minutes into the ride and ignoring her pleas for her life before grabbing the dash cam and shutting it off. Crew has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide, robbery, and tampering with evidence.

Security video shows a 2-year old boy being physically restrained by his nanny and force-fed. The little boy can be heard saying 'NO" as well as crying and screaming for his daddy. Parent Max and Laura Oglesby turned in their home security feed to the horrifying situation. The couple, working about 45 minutes away, immediately headed home, calling the boy's grandmother to go get him immediately. When the Oglesby couple checked more of their footage they found the ordeal lasted more than two hours. Nanny Lauren Rowe can be seen holding 2-year-old Declan's arms behind his back as she jams pot pie into his mouth. She then holds the boy's mouth shut. Rowe was arrested for misdemeanor child abuse, then released on a $2,500 bond. The trial begins on March 8, 2022.

Sorokin was convicted on a handful of grand larceny and theft of services charges. After serving her time, the 31-year-old was released from prison, only to find herself back behind bars. This time, she is fighting being deported to Germany for "overstaying her visa," but again Sorokin has fallen on her feet, landing a deal with Netflix for the rights to her life story.

He paid upwards of $200,000 for access to "Silve" and her online content, including sexually explicit photos and videos. When Amato began stealing money from his family to keep his "connection" to "Silvie," his family stepped in, getting him professional help. This did not stop Amato. His family gave him an ultimatum. Stop communicating with Silvie or move out. On January 25 ,2019, Grant Amato shot and killed his mother, father and brother inside their Orlando home. Amato was convicted of first-degree murder and a sentenced to life in prison.

A prosecutor is asking a judge to intervene after the parents of a suspected school shooter reportedly blew kisses at each other during a remote hearing. James and Jennifer Crumbley are each facing four counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection to the November 2020 school shooting in which their son, Ethan, is accused of killed four classmates. The mother of the 15-year-old Michigan boy texted a friend about her son’s demeanor hours before the deadly shooting, court testimony revealed. Jennifer Crumbley’s friend, Kira Pennock, 25, testified during a preliminary hearing about the texts Jennifer Crumbley sent her regarding a meeting she had with the school counselor hours before the shooting, according to The Detroit News. In the alleged texts, Jennifer Crumbley said she “s**t day” after the conference and included a photo of a disturbing drawing her 15-year-old son drew on a math assignment. Hours after the shooting, Jennifer Crumbley texted Pennock, “My son ruined so many lives today.” Fox News reported that during that fateful meeting, Ethan Crumbley convinced school officials that his concerning drawings were from a video game. The teen’s parents also refused to take him home, according to prosecutors. Jennifer Crumbley allegedly also texted Pennock that her son was having a “hard time” and “can’t be left alone.” Ethan Crumbley is charged with terrorism, first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder, and gun violations. He remains jailed without bond.

A settlement has been reached between Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre. Giuffre has long accused the prince of sexually abusing her multiple times when she was 17. The terms of the settlement have not been released to the public, however, reports say the terms pay out $16 Million U.S. dollars, with $2 million of that designated for a charity of Giuffre's choice. Last month, the terms of a 2009 settlement between Giuffre and Epstein were released to the public as part of Giuffre’s lawsuit against Prince Andrew. The document revealed that Giuffre was paid $500,000 in the settlement. Prince Andrew’s legal team has argued that the 2009 settlement legally shielded him from civil lawsuits like the one Giuffre had filed against him. He had also tried to stop the stipulations of Giuffre’s 2009 settlement from being released to the public. As part of the 2009 settlement, Giuffre agreed to “release, acquit, satisfy, and forever discharge” Epstein and “any other person or entity who could have been included as a potential defendant.” Prince Andrew contended that the decade-old settlement legally shielded him from civil lawsuits like the one Giuffre has filed against him.

A New York girl reported missing for two years has been found safe. Paislee Shultis was four at the time of her disappearance. Investigators suspected that Paislee’s biological parents, who didn’t have custody, took her. Today that was proven. After receiving a tip that someone was hiding Paislee, New York State police found the child and her parents at a home in Saugerties. A detective helped search inside the home and when he shined a flashlight at an odd-looking place in the staircase, he noticed a blanket.Police removed a few steps in the area and located Paislee and her biological mother, 33-year-old Kimberly Cooper, in a “small, cold and wet” space. Cooper and father Kirk Shultis, Jr., were both arrested and charged with felony custodial interference and endangering the welfare of a child. Paislee is in good health and is now back with her older sister and legal guardian. An Indiana man accused of child exploitation and child pornography, says police told him he was the last person to communicate with one of two girls killed in Delphi, Indiana, in 2017. In a jailhouse interview with HLN, Keegan Kline says police told him that his fake “anthony_shots” social media profile was the last communication with Liberty “Libby” German, 14. Libby and her friend, Abigail Williams, 13, were found murdered near the Monon High Bridge in Delphi, in February 2017. Kline has not been charged in the Delphi case, nor named a suspect.

A Michigan mother says that the cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants threatened to kill her if she did not kill her 3-year-old daughter. Prosecutors say 22-year-old Justine Johnson stabbed the girl multiple times, then discarded her body in a trash bag at her home. Johnson says she had been experiencing hallucinations amid weeks of heroin withdrawal and lack of sleep. Johnson's brothers found the little girl hidden in a back room, a small foot sticking out of the trash bag. Police searched the home and found bloodstains on a closet door, couches and items in a bedroom. Three knives were also recovered. Inside the bag, investigators found Sutton’s body wrapped in a comforter and a pair of jeans that had traces of blood on them. Johnson is being held on charges of felony murder and first-degree child abuse in connection with the death of her daughter, Sutton Mosser.

A Long Island grandmother helps capture a suspected scammer. 73-year-old former 911 dispatcher Jean Ebbert receives a call from a man claiming to be her grandson, who's been jailed for DUI. He needs $8,000 for bail. Problem the scammer is, Ebbert's grandchildren aren't old enough to drive. Ebbert decides to play along and get the police involved. Multiple callers get involved claiming to be a bailbondman, and a lawyer. When the man shows up to collect the money, police are waiting. Ebbert hands the man an envelop full of paper towels and the police take him down. The man, identified as 28-year-old Joshua Estrella Gomez of Mineola, New York, was arrested and charged with attempted grand larceny in the third degree.

A juror in Scott Peterson’s murder trial will be granted immunity when she testifies in a San Mateo County courtroom later this month. Richelle Nice is accused of lying on her juror questionnaire for Peterson's 2004 trial. Nice has been accused of lying, by not disclosing that she had filed for a protective order against her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend whom Nice said was stalking her. Nice also did not disclose she had been a victim of domestic violence. Peterson's attorney accused Nice of intentionally lying to get on the jury to convict the accused husband. This hearing could be a pivotal moment in Peterson’s bid for a new murder trial.
