BTR New Admin: Diah Vitaloka, Nyoman Widyarsa, Kumala Megawati, Rio Sumartha (and Romy Ashar)

This interview was recorded on October 2023, so tiny amount of informations may have been three months old already. HOWEVER, still a fun conversation with four (out of five) dudes and dudettes of Bintaro Trojan Runners’ current admin team. We went a little deep on how, what, why along with their vision and mission and all the future plans for Bintaro Trojan Runners. Their accomplishments have yield so much compliments across running communities. It would be naive to not recognize their ability to integrate new members with the old members, younger runners to older runners, fast runners to slower runners. BTR would have never been this good without this team. Let’s give a shout out to Vita, Nyoman, Kumala, Rio (and Ashar) and hope you enjoy the convo as much as I do. Cheers and link in bio.

BTR Ironman World Championship-Kona: Maya Djatirman with Atmasunu Prabhaswara

There isn’t really any succinct wording to describe this episode featuring our guest, Maya Djatirman. She is the third Indonesian to compete in Ironman World Championship-Kona. Sunu and I will be covering her winning the qualification, the training load, the behind the scenes, the Andi Wibowo factor, along with her perseverance to overcome her journey to compete with the best of the world best Ironman Triathletes in Kona 2023. Literally no easy feat, 110% effort, and if you are looking for motivation to be in an Ironman level of commitment, this is one to savor. Enjoy! Link in bio.

BTR Chicago Marathon: Minda Siregar with Atmasunu Prabhaswara

Please join Atmasunu and I talking about Chicago Marathon with one of the top two female Bintaro Trojan Runners fastest Marathon finishers. No further introduction needed, say hello to Minda Siregar and let’s take a look on her 3:59:51 debut marathon achievement. Enjoy!

BTR Rinjani Ultra 36: Billy Ramali & Melina Sari

This is a definite Couples Trail Running 101. Racing with your love one is never easy, it comes with its own challenges. However, over time the tension is evolved into something of a sweet spot. If you think you want to start trail running with your other half, do listen to this first. It will help a great deal. We also discussed a lot about the 'true' meaning behind 1500-1800-2000-2700-7500mdpl and how to incorporate the given trail run training plan into the urban city life. It ain't easy, but hey, impossible is nothing. I love reminiscing about trail running life and I did have a great time unpacking Billy and Melina's secret to Rinjani Ultra 36. Enjoy!

BTR Judo: Amanah Istiqomah with Uchie Sadiqah & Atmasunu Prabhaswara

This is easily by far one of our most favorite episode. Amanah Istiqomah is easy to talk to. A very matter of fact kind of person, easy going, humble, and also smart. She is the kind of person who uses her weaknesses to be her greatest asset. A two-times Sea Games (another one coming soon) and one-time Asian Game Judo Indonesian Athlete, while at the same time she is in KOPASSUS. She is an inspiration to us and hopefully yours too. Hope you enjoy our serious but also laid back conversation. This is truly an honor. Enjoy!

BTR Tokyo Marathon: Yolanda Firdaus with Uchie Sadiqah & Atmasunu Prabhaswara

One of our most endearing episode that really showcased how close we all are to each other, especially when it comes to talk something about running. Today Uchie, Sunu and I got to discuss at length about Tokyo Marathon with Yola: her training, her struggles, her appreciation on Tokyo architecture was also mentioned, along with millions other stuffs in regards to the marathon itself. It is interesting to note the way Tokyo Marathon carried out before and after the pandemic. Learned something new in every minute with laughters in between. Enjoy!

BTR Jakarta Marathon: Indah Agustina, Rio Sumartha, & Tine Sutopo

If a race can make a group divided into leftist and far right, then Jakarta Marathon will be named as the winner. This much beloved and hated race is a class of its own. We love the race so much because it is right there in our backyard, but then we have always been triggered by not so small of a thing that is really uhm, spectacularly questionable. Hate if you must, but for all our guests tonight, they (we) all think highly of Jakarta Marathon and very much hopeful that it will someday turn into a good and respectable race. It will be super difficult. Nevertheless, Jakarta Marathon will always have that soft spot in most of us. Please enjoy our patio-like conversation, it is not scientific nor serious but we do have fun and it was such a pleasure to talk to these bunch. Cheers

BTR Coach: Valast Ahmad and Uchie Sadiqah

One of the most committed runners that I’ve ever known, hence it is a no brainer that she is the person behind @VASquad. For those who wonder, Vasquad is a place where you can learn how to run or if you want to be better at running, or maybe if you want a sense of community while at the same time perfecting your running form. And who would have thought that Valast would be the one who is responsible to help people find their passion and at the same time be better at it. Proud to call her a friend of Bintaro Trojan Runners and hope you enjoy the conversation between Valast, our guest host Uchie Sadiqah and me. This is a longer one and perfect for your long run this weekend or perhaps a long drive or you know that you are about to be caught in a bad traffic later in the day. Cheers!

BTR Coast to Coast: Asti Ramdani, Irvan Aditya & Gerry Kristian

There are some days where running in asphalt no longer gives us joy. Both to our eyes and mind. And mostly this is the prime time where some runners opt to run in nature instead. Please meet Asti and Irvan, the Bintaro Trojan Runners Trail King and Queen. We covered almost everything about running in the wild (sometimes mix with cone block :d) along with the Coast to Coast race itself. This is a fun and easy convo and hope you get to join their journey as much as Gerry and I do. Link in bio.

BTR Heart Healthy: Idham Hadju & Rizky Kusumah

None of us liked to be told on how to live our life, it is undeniable that we tend to love living just the way we want as much as the next person. Eat as much as we want, sleep as little as we have the time for, minimum amount of exercise, and other bad habit that has the tendency to stick in our daily routine to which we have zero thoughts before. However, as we grow older, life sometimes did funny stuffs to remind us either mentally or physically by attacking the core of our lives: our beating hearts. This is a fast-paced and tons of information kinda conversation. I hope you do find this as a light reminder that we do need to be preventive instead of corrective. Love and respect thy body. Unintimidating and what a fun conversation that we have tonight. Enjoy!

BTR Ironman Texas: Adhitra Pradana Putra and Atmasunu Prabhaswara

The story began when Adhitra signed up for Ironman Texas about 1.5 months prior to the actual race. What started as a family holiday, it ended up with a little race in between. Most of the time during a triathlon race, we worried about carrying our bike in between plane rides, this time Adhitra decided to rent a bike with the IM partner so that he can be freed of hassle before and after the race. Another decision that may be cringy for any endurance athletes was that he also decided to wear a new running shoes for the 42.2km distance. What a decision! It was a fun interview, a lot of Ironman perspective and with the help of Atmasunu, we created our own little space to discuss the importance of strength training. Hear us out, and hope there is a smile and a sliver of hope for you to also be an Ironman sometimes in the future. There is never a limit to dream big!

BTR L'Étape Mandalika: Juanita Ade & Atmasunu Prabhaswara

What a fun, quick, and packed with information kind of conversation. Having the minimum amount of knowledge regarding L'Étape, now Sunu and I know more about how exciting the event was. Juanita involvement in the event was not on the participant side, rather she was the MC of the whole event, thus she got to interview a lot of the finishers. So we knew behind the scene stories of the route, the temperature, and the winning jerseys! What do you know, the first place winner in male category is a young man from Banjarmasin. Rock on! Loving it. Love the vibe tonight and I get to do it with my two fave people Ade and Sunu. Enjoy!

BTR Bromo KOM: Roy Iskandar & Riyana Kadarsari

Oh it's just another day of 60 km warm up ride and another 43 km uphill ride, with the last 25 km having to endure the 2,000 meters climb. If your knees are not shaking by now, it is about time to register for the 2024 Bromo KOM. This is Riyana first Bromo KOM and she finished strong while it is Roy's fifth time finishing the Bromo KOM. Not for the faint hearted but surely you will learn and laugh at times by listening to this convo. Enjoy! Link in bio.

Africa, Tanzania: Fajar Rizaldin

Serengeti, Ngoro Ngoro, the great migration, the big five, Mount Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, I have lost my count by now. Tanzania is one of the most beautiful and the most visited country in Africa. Truly with the low crime, beautiful scenery, good food, and visa on arrival for Indonesian passport holder, there should be more Indonesian visited this amazing country. To which Fajar comes along. His stories, his connection with Culture Think, his side trip to Comoros, and above all: his easy attitude to the planning. It started in late noon one fine Wednesday and then in less than 24 hours he bought the ticket, booked a couple of tours, and flew to Dar es Salam on Thursday night! These kind of stories will never cease to amaze me and hopefully yours too. Enjoy! Link in bio.

Africa, Nigeria: Ponnie Ramirez

Nigeria has been one of my frequent conversation when it comes to Africa. Their population is massive and their emerging market is salivating for those who works probably in retail. However, none of the Indonesian I know have actually lived there-let alone want to go there. This is where Ponnie chimes in. She had a great career in Jakarta, an avid cyclist, very social and I would assume easily that her likeability is through the roof-then why on earth would she move to Lagos, Nigeria for three years? And that my friend, is a story needs to be told. It is no longer a surprise if in the future you or someone you know is assigned to do some work in Nigeria and when that happens, this podcast is made especially for you. Do enjoy the conversation as Ponnie made her stay in Lagos works for her. Link in bio.

Africa, Egypt: Agnes Muriani & Deddy Sebayang

We are going back to 2011 when Egypt has just went through massive uprising and at the same time, Deddy started his job in Cairo. It was exciting, weird at times, but notably BEAUTIFUL place to visit. Listen to their stories, the historical places, the religious history, the cruise and what to not do during your travel in Egypt. We are having a guest host tonight, Bapak Pratomo, one who specialized in Warkop DKI-if you catch my drift. Enjoy and link in bio.

Fri, 17 Mar 2023 18:41:35 GMT
Africa, Namibia: Ari & Nova Hadiman

One of my best interview. The amount of knowledge is on par with the amount of laughter from the whole 75 minutes conversation. It is longer, but if you are not looking for flights fare to Namibia after this interview, then I assume you are looking for the infamous route of angkot '09. Do enjoy and link in bio.

London, Relocation: Pakasa Doori & Sari Saraswati

Nobody ever think that moving is easy. Let alone moving to another country in the midst of pandemic of 2020. There was the zero sense of certainty for everything, the anxiety of traveling abroad especially with two children in tow. However, as everything else in life, as the time passed-they manage to get through it all. This is the story of Doori and Sari navigating their lives from Jakarta all the way to Richmond-a nice suburb of London. Moving is tough, but it is a challenge that we have to face as a family unit time and time again. Listen to their story and link is in bio. Enjoy!

London, Family Bonding: Cherissa Kania

I was so ready to discuss about fashion, styling, make-up, and whatnots. I have known this girl for so long, so I was not ready for this new woman. Please meet Cherissa, my friend, my dentist, and my fashion icon. In this long and slow-paced convo I get to talk more in depth about life and her recent (a long awaited one) London trip. Excitement is in the air and she is the Queen of Style. And I am even prouder of what she becomes. Love London and love her easy going nature during her family trip. Join our convo, link in bio.

London Marathon: Hasbi Lubis

London Marathon demystified. If you love or a bit curious about running, please do join Atmasunu Prabhaswara, Rizky Kusumah and me, in deciphering London Marathon by terrorizing Hasbi Lubis' recollection of his experience years ago. We had fun-lots of laughs as expected and coming out a little bit smarter about the scoops of marathon in general (both the ups and the downs-more of the latter). For that we thank Hasbi for his clear memories of what happened on the windy day of April 24, 2016. Enjoy! Link in bio. @bintarotrojanrunners #ourheartandsouls

London, Chevening: Citra and Citta

There are many ways to continue your studies, and if you are smart enough, there is this thing called scholarship. We heard the stories a million times, but did we really listen? Well, this podcast will bring you the adventure of these two Chevening scholars making their way alive and well for the whole 365 days in the heart of London. A year later, they completed their journey of 20% student-80% traveler (you read this right) as a proud owner of MA in Critical Media Studies from SOAS and an LLM from Queen Mary University of London. They will definitely hate me for my bragging for them, and that is okay. This is one of that useful conversation and the link is in bio.

London, Travel/Worktrip/Mom/Halal Stuffs: Ira Kemalawati

London to Ira is an endless life journey. So much so that she made a weird booking date for the Harry Potter World or promised her daughters for an easy lunch out to a mall to only ended up in Starbucks or instead of paying less for transportation-she paid more for Uber/taxis here and there. The stories evolved from what supposed to be a halal food inspo to an entirely different admin stuffs convo about getting to UK and being in London. I had fun dreaming about London through her stories, hope you will be too. Link in bio. Enjoy!

Friendship, BRUTAL: Anis, Anti, and I

I feel like there is no right way other than to say that the three of us have the sort of brutally honest relationship. It took decades to build. And as anything else in life, when the foundation is strong-then the house lasts long. With our friendship, it will be very surprising if it does not stand a lifetime. And baby, this is not an exaggeration. When you do have the time to listen, you'll see that there is no topic that we won't talk about. Body insecurities, envious in nature (of each other and of course of other people), work-life, family and intermittent money problem. We'll spread it out over the hour. Hope you get to have a friendship like these and treasure them! Enjoy. Link in bio.

Wed, 24 Aug 2022 17:28:41 GMT
Friendship, Hilarious: GP, Vitri, and Yoli

These are the terms what you will find out during the Podcast: Catatan Si Boy, SMANSA Medan, Fisik 2 & Fisik 5.5, Broken Older, and King Stone. If you feel familiar at least with two of the terms, then by all means do listen. One hilarious with very little amount of editing interview. That's how good the conversation was! Although hardly surprising considering the bond they protect for all the thirty years of friendship-if not more. Enjoy. Link in bio.

Friendship, Spontaneous: Ineng, Timun, and I

If you were at one time involved as an exchange student to the other side of the world during that horrendous teenage years, then we do have so much in common. Today podcast is 99% reminiscing of that time when our parents went out of their way exporting us 24 hours flight away from home. FOR THE WHOLE YEAR. Imagine that. Enjoy. Link is in bio.

Friendship, Lifelong: Agi & Zaskia

Oh to be young again. It is funny how friendship works at times, and to hear all these stories directly, so alive and so young! A friend is indeed a family you get to choose over the years, to find one that works for so long is a treasure. Do listen to how these two who are not so teens anymore found their BFFs unexpectedly. Enjoy. Link is in bio.

Thu, 07 Jul 2022 19:11:38 GMT
Friendship, Uncomplicated: Ditto & Galih

Well, I would never know that these two met in a band during their high school years, had it not been for this interview. Galih as the vocalist and Ditto as both vocalist and the drummer. This friendship lasts for as long as they have mostly not because they pour their hearts out to each other but more of consistently inventing some new activities throughout the years: painting Galih's parents house or helping Galih's moving here and there, to name a few. Haha. Enjoy. Link is as always in the bio.

Wed, 29 Jun 2022 17:58:18 GMT
Friendship, Fabulous: Dira, Ina & Nia

30 years of friendship between these girls and now: women. I have always loved listening to my sister in law stories of her long-lasting friendship for almost 14 years now. However, as luck would have it, only now that I get to meet the three inner-core of this friendship altogether with no limits. Do enjoy. Link is in bio.

Thu, 23 Jun 2022 03:17:45 GMT
Friendship, Affable: Eri & Rio

I think I've heard more stories about friendship gets ruined because of vacationing together rather than the other way around. Eri and Rio's friendship is the proof, and of course I find it naturally interesting. Starting their adventure by running the Berlin Marathon and with the level of authenticity that they both displayed, I will not be surprised if 50 years from now they are spending much of their day in various coffee-shops all over Bintaro. Link is in bio.

Wed, 15 Jun 2022 21:00:57 GMT
Friendship, Steadfast: Amma & Maya

In between tons of friends on one end and tons of workload at the other end, surprisingly a long-term friendship is established. Both Maya and Amma are of two different traits but both confirmed their similar likeness of: Karaoke (but of course) (Amma has a voice of an angel) (while Maya loves the mic and all sorts of Mariah Carey stuffs), and also both like observing people. And by observing, we all know what it truly means dot dot dot. Enjoy. Link is in bio.

Wed, 08 Jun 2022 21:00:03 GMT
Friendship, Complaisant: Edwin & Iwan

Oh Iwan and Ebin, words cannot even describe how stupidly hilarious the both of you were and still are. Coming from Sundanese roots, this discussion is of three languages, meaning that the three of us is, ehem-but of course, highly erudite by nature and we feel the need to showcase them all in the 50 minutes run of Ini Bukan Diskusi Podcast. Link is in bio.

Pet Lovers, Birds: Ningrum

Wonder how a person can keep birds in an apartment? Yeah, me too. To my surprise, although there are times where landlords are not allowing its tenants to have pet, some birds are allowed. They are small, most of them quiet, and are expected to sit majestically inside a cage. However, this does not always stand true. Being one of the smartest animals, not to mention the dinosaurs descendants, birds are highly social, unique and also playful. They know how to get to our heart, especially those who can actually talk. And get this, only by meeting and talking with people like Ning, I get to know some things like how in certain places in the USA, you need to take classes before being allowed to keep chickens on your backyards. Also that when the unfortunate thing happens, pets are usually cremated upon death. Not all topics are dark though, we also get to gossip about Yoshi, Ning's most high-spirited conure. How Yoshi enjoys being cuddled, likes flying around, knows how to keep its poo inside :), and taking a long shower under man-made waterfalls! Wonder how Yoshi and Linux called their parents Toddy and Kiwi? Stay tuned! @yoyotheconure @inibukandiskusi

Pet Lovers, Reptile: Troy Hambali

As you might have learned, I am so ignorant about pets already (at least for the first 5 minutes you would realize that I have a hard time differentiating amphibians and reptiles. Ouch). However, my curiosity overcomes my fear to the extent that now I wanted to know more about reptiles. From tortoises to pythons, from bearded dragons to Cuvier’s dwarf caiman (the smallest crocodile in the world), we would cover them all tonight in this breathtaking talk. I am glad that I get to spend the precious minutes with Troy Hambali, outstanding animal lovers, and through him my fear of reptiles started to diminish. Through our talk tonight, Troy would let us be known that caring for reptiles were really a true adrenaline challenge but then you will also be surprised on how low maintenance snakes and crocodile actually are. I mean I am just as surprised as you are!

Hopefully, you will gain some depths should you feel like owning one. Troy will walk us through the details on which reptiles to start with, how to caring for them, that it is important to know how big your reptile will become and put that into your considerations before choosing poorly and not realizing that some reptiles do need bigger spaces. And the most important thing to note is that you have a good intention and definitely not a race to look cooler or looking masculine. Having one meant you are ready for something new that not only will bring you joy in life but by understanding reptiles, they will give you and I, quite a life lesson too.

Hear us out tonight and hope you have a great time as I do. @troyhambalireptiles @inibukandiskusi

Pet Lovers, Dogs: Parvita Siregar

Parvita and her dogs everyday routines as follows. AM: Waking up, everyone down the stairs and do their number one and possibly number two at their designated spaces, Parvita cleans up after them. Taking a 30mins run with the two dogs. Second outing: walk with the third dog, being an older dude that he is. Breakfast for the four of them. Long day ahead for Parvita (house chores-working-life stuffs), while the dogs are taking their first nap of the day. PM: Lunch at 3PM, backyard-outing for all three, and then another nap.

And here are some of the things that you need to be familiar with before deciding to caring for dogs or perhaps other pets:

  • Keep their diet as healthy as possible so you won't have to worry about their old age illness and live longer healthy life.
  • Choose the right breed that suits your energy level-your home size-even your Air Conditioner situation should you go for Siberian Husky breed (although I think everyone should also be informed that having an 'Anjing Kampung' usually also means that you will have a hardcore super healthy breed in their lifetime along with littler maintenance and you don't succumb to 'those non-responsible breeders').
  • Owning 'Anjing Kampung' also means fewer efforts for all their grooming needs.
  • Perhaps Omega 3 and Glucosamine intake and used only as needed.
  • Annual veterinarian check up along with their annual vaccines shots.
  • Once every three months, administered flea drops to their fur.
  • Having an 11 years old who is so crazy about having dog also meant that I need to dig deeper and oh so glad for all the new insights to owning a pet (or three) by listening to Parvita dogs' stories. We had a great time talking about dogs and I can say that I should also be thanking Sumi, Rubi and Choki for sharing your lives with us tonight!  Keep being loyal and fun as dogs should and hopefully our tonight discussion is also an eye-opener for you too. Please follow Sumi Lauradewi in Instagram: @sumianjingkecil

    Pet Lovers, Dog/Cats/Turtles: Ina Darmiyanti

Why would anyone have so much pets? The answers may vary, but listening to all the reasons that Ina shared with us tonight is in fact interesting. From the way those animals would love you unconditionally, looking at you lovingly, asking for no returns all the way to the way this surreal times might ease your anxiety by having one or maybe more pets. I like the way the conversation goes as it does sound like it is easy and so much fun in caring for animals to those who enjoys them. There is no tension of having that extra baggage and there is no meaningful hassle until that day where it is time to let them go. Heartbreaking but that's the way any living creatures go. One lives, another passed. A Labrador, three cats, and a couple of turtles are the joy of Ina's and her family time and time again. I used to wonder why, but maybe just maybe, this discussion tonight is another window to open my no-to-pets mind. :) @inibukandiskusi

    Pet Lovers, Aquascape: Götz Martin

Even when he had to smuggle a new aquarium into the storage, he would not back down. That's a rule number one for a pet lover or any other hobbyist really since it is easier to ask for forgiveness rather than asking your spouse permission! :) Owning 15 aquarium with vast varieties ecosystem in each of them, Götz really got his hands on. This particular fascination started years ago when he was still 8-9 years old in Germany. And only when he moved to Indonesia, he had the will to restart this long lost passion to an actual hobby. Through this discussion, not only I learned that Indonesia's aquascaping is well-known and well-respected globally, but also that if your interest is particularly within fresh water fishes, then Indonesia is the place to do this aquarium type of setting. Götz's background in forestry, sustainability, and land use related matters may come very handy with this love of his. What do you know in 30 minutes, I learned that fish excrement may be useful for the plants around them with the help of certain bacteria. Also I gained an understanding that when fish in your tanks are starting to breed, therein lies a remarkable sensation of pure delight kicks their way in. You have the sense that your fish really do appreciate and comfortable to that ecosystem that you spent hours a week to caring for. Tuned in and hopefully you enjoy the conversation! @inibukandiskusi

    Pet Lovers, Koi: Muhammad Faisal

When I think about Koi, I would only think about this person, that is Faisal of course. Even in his high school years, he has already had the inkling to fishes. Koi that is. From his admiration to restaurants' ponds to actually created his own pond, one can only assume that he really has that zing. As a true hobbyist he understood the level of commitment (both pain and joy) that it takes to caring for more than fourty Kois. During the discussion tonight, I got a little glimpse on caring for fishes, the ponds, the genetics, and that it is apparently normal to have your Kois died in staggering numbers at one time even under you tight scrutiny. Listening to how Faisal describing his wonderment of the Koi Communities across Indonesia, one can only assume that Koi has taken a good amount of attention from its hobbyist, hours at a time, and it is actually not a surprised that during this surreal time, caring for a fish provides a hearty sanctuary in that vast amount of land you have at your house. I love the fact that caring for Koi meaning that you are one hundred percent caring for its water. That little thing in life. @inibukandiskusi

    Perempuan & Media Sosial

It does take one hell of courage admitting to our obsession with social media. From that phone book that you kept tight in your pocket in the early 90s, to the matchmaking apps in early 2000s to the ninth wonder of the world: Instagram. We tried to cover it all and letting our own experiences be the guide. Friendster, Twitter, Facebook, match.com, Zoosk, MIRC, ICQ, YM, Kaskus, Tinder, Linkedin, and finally Instagram. Those platforms mentioned above might tickle your senses. Reminiscing to what it was once. And hopefully none of you have ever signed up to a dating site while still married to your current spouse. ‘Cause believe you us, these happened and apparently quite a lot. Ouch. So many memories, so many laughter, so many wrong turns, but yet here we all are. Spending countless hours in this precious Instagram. Allowing people to believe your own narratives while at the same time judging that person’s post. Ain’t life funny this way! Co-host: Nina Setyawati and Parvita Siregar

Ps. This is our last episode spending time with these two smart ladies. While they will be missed, you could always listen to their voice over and over again. Grateful to have spent the month of July with you two!

    Perempuan & Keluarga

This is getting way too personal! :) Having said that, you might learn one or million about where the three of us came from: our family history. The family who are related by blood, by marriage or that special people (and of course that canine family) who we consider our own even when we do not share DNA albeit we do share similar beliefs. Nina with her Javanese touch, Parvita with her mix of Northern Sumatra and Western Sumatra flair, and I with my pure Minang blood in me. Wondering how the three stories merged into one heavy and long discussion? Listen up and compare those to your own experience. There is a huge chance that our stories match yours, and maybe just maybe you will end up having the most laugh of your life. Although there is more chance of that not happening. Haha. Hopefully you enjoy this discussion tonight as much as we do. Co-host: Nina Setyawati & Parvita Siregar. @inibukandiskusi

    Perempuan & Mistis

First, let me tell you that especially for this episode, we did not mean to offend both human and the unknown creatures. When we discuss whatever it is that we discuss, please know that we are celebrating life and all the complexities within. Which for tonight, it includes all the stories we have heard, seen, and to some extent, experienced. It may not be true, it may be 100% true, or maybe just maybe it has some truth to the stories. Whatever it is, we were pretty much discussing this mystical theme in a positive note and hope you will have as much as fun as we are in unraveling all those stories around and within us. Fear not as this is probably one of the most joyful discussions that we have ever had. Do savour this episode to the best of your knowledge and do remember, unlike popular belief: Kliwon is actually a good time to cleanse. Have fun bathing tomorrow! Perempuan & Dandan

From the time B18 in Ratu Plaza was the ultimate place to purchase that MAC lipstick to the time when that Body Shop lip gloss was suddenly a must-have item for us. This discussion will absolutely cover all the things that you need to know about looking and feeling good and also the things you probably do not have any interest in such as Vaginal Rejuvenation and Haji Jeje treatment :). Although, we are more interested to why we do make-up, how far we are willing to enhance our appearance (plastic surgery, botox, filler, etc.), would we go for tattoo or adding some more pierce perhaps, among others. Great reminiscing and a reminder that when we do something different to our appearance solely for our benefit, not for other people, then life gets much easier and that self confidence unexpectedly: soars! Perempuan & Teknologi

Can a woman be a tech savvy kind of dudette? Well, there are a lot of techie women out there much as there are a lot of non-techie kind of dude. So let's see this from a neutral angle. :) In tonight episode we will be discussing technology in ways that only us can do. Ngalor-ngidul-ngetan-ngulon style. Our understanding of technology is just as much as yours probably are. Nevertheless, given the combined years of experience, we have passed some of the most exciting technology inventions of our time. Gramophone, Walkman, Mini Compo, Pager, Game Watch, Cassettes, all the way to Spotify Playlists! We have done them all. We get to discuss all the applications that are downloaded to our hand phones but at times fail to remember that it is even there! Along with should we fear the vast changing nature of technology. To what extent should we start to stop and worry? Well, we also do not have the answer to that, but we get to enjoy the tech conversation over a cup of coffee. Perempuan & Karir Part 2

With the immense informations coming and going through social media along with the #MeToo movements, we can no longer stereotyping that women in workspace are all X, and then women who chose to be a solid home maker is definitely act like a Y. In this episode of Ini Bukan Diskusi, we are trying to get out of those small-mindedness. Yet we did not stop there, there is also discussions about men in the workspace and men who are also a home maker. We were initially not ready to break the common misconceptions but yet here we all are. Hopefully we gain some new colors to our rainbows as nothing is definite and life is always changing. The question is, are you ready? Co-host: Nina Setyawati and Parvita Siregar.

    Perempuan & Karir Part 1

Ever wonder why we are what we are? This heated and surprisingly entertaining discussion obviously chewing over being women in the workspace. Some might say it is common, some might say how dare you choose career over family, and the list goes on and on. Whatever have been said about women and career, we were brave enough to discuss our choices. How did Parvita start her career? Why did Nina choose not to become a doctor, since both of her parents are doctors? Why did Imelda choose to be a house worker? :) Some of us were once dreaming of becoming a flight attendant, the other some wished to be a policewoman yet here we are. Life is fluid and so does our dreams. Let's listen up and discuss! What a great time to be women. Co-host: Nina Setyawati & Parvita Siregar.

    Perempuan & Pandemi

Along with the semi lockdown being imposed by the government across Java Island and Bali, we would like to reminisce about the whole experience regarding this Covid-19 pandemic. As we will have three female hosts throughout the month of July, it is only fair to revisit the rhetoric from our set of eyes. Living with the current pandemic for ordinary women. How did it feel? How does it feel? What do we have to adjust? Is it difficult to do so? Could we actually stay at home and reinvent ourselves or will we end up wasting the days longing for what it was once before? Tonight we will have that discussions and you might as well enjoy the podcast with a cup of coffee or boba tea. Your call. Hope you enjoy our July hosts as well. Co-host: Nina Setyawati & Parvita Siregar.

    Bakti Untuk Negeri: Teddy Danas

When you think of banking and the likes, you will immediately be brought into all sorts of imaginary scenarios. However, Pak Teddy's line of works challenged all the notions that we've (I've) ever had. As the Senior Vice President of Government & Institutional at Bank Mandiri, he works with the Ministry of State Owned Enterprises to oversee their project: 'BUMN Untuk Indonesia' as the mediator between the government, Bank Mandiri and other State Owned Enterprises to increase their productivity and efficiency. What impressed me most throughout the interview is that he is also involved with the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, to name a few, in helping micro, small and medium enterprises across Indonesia. Helping farmers to increase their productivity to harvest thrice a year instead of one-increasing their yield from 5 tonnes of rice production to 9 tonnes, Rice Mill unit in Pamarican, supporting and driving fishermen to diversify their business unit from A-Z, etc. With his extensive background of thirty years in banking system, I do believe his passion in increasing productivities in all line of works, especially the SMEs, supported by the government as their shareholder have been and will continuously be flourished for years to come. Things looking positively good and we are hoping for the ripple effect as the result as well. A low key discussion with one of the humblest person I have ever had the chance to talk to. @inibukandiskusi

    Bakti Untuk Negeri: Erly Fitrianti

Anyone who met or knew Erly must have thought the same thing: What is it about her that amazed us so much? How on earth does she do it all? How many hours of sleep does she have? Through this discussion, I found all the answers. The truth is according to Erly, work-life balance is only possible if you can balance your expectation with the commitment you have set for yourself. A highly target-oriented person, she flawlessly brought us into the Pertamina dimension, which was the third-largest crude oil producer in Indonesia in 2020. As a non-oil person, all I know about Pertamina is solely based on the things I saw and read from various news-outlets. Erly's frequent posts in her social media continually educating her followers on what it means to be a part of this world-class company. I may only understand half of her life in Procurement Division, but I'll be lying if I did not think she is one hell of a productive women. Talking to her not only energised me as a female (believe you me, this interview is all about female empowerment), but also leaving me fired up for any life challenges. One challenge at a time, then you'll be surprised on your achievement. I guess the 1-3-5 Pertamina formulas may work for all aspect in our lives. And I thank Erly for bringing that to my attention. Hope you will find some meaning to tonight’s discussion as much as I do. @inibukandiskusi

    Bakti Untuk Negeri: Eri Wibowo

Coming from private sectors for 12 years, Eri Wibowo suddenly found his calling in serving for Indonesia in 2012. What were the odds that that specific calling presented itself in a form of Sarana Multi Infrastruktur job offer. With his astounding background in Finance, this Universitas Indonesia and George Washington University graduate, striving to help people within his means. Actively financing immeasurable infrastructure projects for Indonesian's central government, local government, and private institutions. What surprised me his works also tapped the Renewables Energy sector: solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass energy. Through this light discussion over coffee tonight, I learned a lot about what it means socially and economically working for the nations. Although both Eri and I can agree on one thing, the benefits outweigh the risks. To see the projects come to live, say, in a form of highway connecting Pulau Sumatera and Pulau Jawa, oh the feeling is full with unanticipated flood of emotions and joy. It is unreal yet it is real. We are so proud and hope you will feel the same way. @inibukandiskusi

    Bakti Untuk Negeri: Yuke Ratnawulan

Maybe some of you have heard the 'Satpol PP' term. Well, back in the day we called them 'Tibum' from Ketertiban Umum. Those guys who were once a figure in tidying up the city, was the sole inspiration for our guest tonight in becoming a civil servant. Soon she set her goal in life to help cities all over Indonesia to take care of the poor without leaving them empty handed. With her background of Urban and Regional Planning, she now works for Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing of Republic of Indonesia, and her dreams may just have come true. Some of it in fragments and some of them, hopefully, are on their way. Nothing is ever easy in taking care the whole nations but her work as a planner and as a part of urban resilience project are interesting to be addressed. @inibukandiskusi

    Bakti Untuk Negeri: Siska Damayanti

Tonight, we have an accountant who once worked in the Hospitality Industry before made a decision to join the Ministry of Defense. What a change! See, this is why we like talking in a greater depth with people, you will be surprised at times. During the entire discussion, we got the sense of what it is to be a part of the Ministry of Defense, the culture and especially the education. And also tonight we had the chance to get a glimpse on how to work in the military environment while still maintaining civilian (non-military) status. Siska Damayanti's work within the Educational and Training Services for those who served in the military is compelling. Hope you enjoy our episode tonight! @inibukandiskusi

    Bakti Untuk Negeri: Ambia Kamil

Inspired by his dad, Ambia chose to work for the government and now is a civil servant for Pemda DKI. As a part of Dinas Perumahan Rakyat dan Kawasan Permukiman Provinsi DKI Jakarta and has spent four years working in the private sector before working for the government, Ambia has more delightful stories to be shared than what we anticipated. His experience in representing DKI Jakarta for Dutch Urban Training & Exposure Programme (DUTEP) in Van Oord-Netherland, has also shaped his way of thinking on how to connect within divisions in DKI Jakarta along with other young civil servants across the Indonesian ministries. We always say that we need changes in all aspects of life. Having the chance for a conversation with a person who maybe has the way and means to do so (even in the long term) is always a good brain-twister. @inibukandiskusi

    Tue, 08 Jun 2021 11:00:00 GMT
    Bakti Untuk Negeri: Mariani Sugandi

Having a military level of discipline and vigorously dressed like one since Middle School, it was not a surprise really when we heard that Mariani chose to go to Taruna Nusantara for her high school (with its military-like discipline) instead of SMAN 3 Bandung. And the dream came true! She is now a doctor who works for the Indonesian Air Force under the Ministry of Defense. It is a complicated route yet a good one! Still living the dream by curing patients yet still under the military environment. I have nothing but awe, hope you are inspired as well. @inibukandiskusi

    Bakti Untuk Negeri: Yusi Yuliana

Knowing Yusi Yuliana for most of my life means that I get to be proud for her achievement. Working for the Central Bank of Indonesia is no easy feat. The challenge of work and life balance means that you have to juggle the right way while still connecting with your inner motherhood. A mother of three, she is now positioned in Tasikmalaya, West Java where she oversees UMKM in Tasikmalaya, Pangandaran, and Banjar. Her constant interaction with Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in her area can be felt on our discussion tonight. Pretty awesome how she manages to stay calm and relax adapting to all the challenges come her way. And for that, she could be your child role model, believe you me. @inibukandiskusi.

    Leading Active Lifestyle: Chaidir Akbar

What more can I say with this hot-stuffs-dude, whom Deddy and I got to spend an hour with. He is the man of his game, one of the best bike handling dude that I have ever met. He was arguably my first non-athlete inspiration when I started the trilogy games of biking, running, and swimming back in 2013. Taught me stuffs about trail running, and especially bike handling from a to z. Eventually merely a couple of years later, you could actually say, that the name Chaidir Akbar is almost a household name to many soon-to-be and pro triathletes and runners across Indonesia. By having the privilege being endorsed by huge brand like Garmin Indonesia, League, and Trek Bikes Indonesia, his name stood out among the rest. And he delivers, what with so many podiums over the years. One might think that he is crazy, as he was once rode his bikes for 532km (7,000m elevation) over the course of 29 hours covering Pelabuhan Sunda Kelapa-Cianjur-Pantai Selatan-Pelabuhan Ratu-Jakarta for charity in 2020. Yet ladies and gentlemen, his sole purpose of exercising during the uncertainty of pandemic is for FUN. So, if you are into this crazy type of ‘fun’, then this interview is custom made for you. Please enjoy Chaidir with his quirks and wits. Co-host: Deddy Sebayang. @inibukandiskusi

    Leading Active Lifestyle: Diah Vitaloka

A young woman with so many (too many) things on her plate! Deddy and I are pleased to talk with one of the young and bubbly Bintaro Trojan Runners member, Diah Vitaloka or Vita. Set aside her twelve-hours shift in Starbucks, she still manages to exercise at the very least three times a week, then starting to learn how to cook, while also quite active on Netflix (highly important). Interestingly, she is one of the rare Indonesian person in my life who is actually spending some times in shaping her way in order to have a good and healthy mental life. This is gold! As usual Deddy and I are fascinated with the way people think and do things, especially those who are in different age-group. Hopefully you are as entertained as we do. Happy listening! Co-host: Deddy Sebayang. @inibukandiskusi

    Leading Active Lifestyle: Bilal Ahmad

Twenty-three years old, one good heart, an entrepreneur, a runner, is a college student while also working full time to pay for his college tuition. So if you (me, us) think we cannot do it all, uhm I guess we have just been proven wrong by this young dude called Bilal. Highly energetic Bilal told us his tale of being born lazy and had nothing else on his mind but flying a kite :) Over time, Bilal transformed to this high-functioning teenager and now in his early twenties. We are so proud to have him in Bintaro Trojan Runners. Hopefully his energy is contagious enough for the rest of us. Co-host: Deddy Sebayang. @inibukandiskusi

    Leading Active Lifestyle: Evie Wahyuni

Some people may have one goal in their life: to lose weight. And here we are, discussing Keto Diet with one of the pioneer in Bintaro Trojan Runners circle. I might have been guilty before looking at Evie's weird diet. But as the discussion goes, Deddy and I actually learned a thing or two about this Keto Diet. Interesting, funny, a very fluid conversation about balancing life: keto diet, exercises, ketofying stuffs (if that's even a word), and one working momma. You go girl! Listen up! Leading Active Lifestyle: Michael Cullinane

Fourteen pages of Sports CV with almost eight decades of experience, he continues to spark energy wherever he is. Mike is still biking to and from the office every single day, comes summer (super hot) and winter (super cold and icy, thus slippery). This is a trait that is unusual for my experience surrounded by older people here in Indonesia. Aside from 3-100miles ride here and there, he also finished a Ragbrai touring with 500miles distance over the course of 7 days just few years ago. I’m already exhausted just by imagining it. If you are into sports and wonder how to be fit even in later later years, maybe just maybe this is the right Podcast to tuned in to. Mike’s energy is contagious and I am so proud to have met this crazy of a man! @inibukandiskusi

Leading Active Lifestyle: Andy 'Iyan' Sugiyanto

Andy or Iyan, whichever you prefer, was in athletic club growing up. Then life happens. Off to college, followed by taking administrative jobs, he just didn't find his passion there. Of course his love for sports kept asking him to go back to that route. When the opportunity came to be a part of Celebrity Fitness Instructor, he took it seriously. Taking license here and there, he finally made it. And now, he is also a 3:20 Marathon Finisher. What a life! Great conversationist, hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Leading Active Lifestyle: Juanita Ade

If you feel that your mood is not getting better, perhaps listening to this interview about one hell of a singer will brighten up your day. This is the uproarious life story about Juanita Ade, the only female bike-fitter in Indonesia today, (thank you Specialized!). She started her active lifestyle since she was just an elementary schooler with her then antique road bike. If you know Juanita, and wonder how she becomes who she is along with her early start in Indonesian music world, then do listen! Prepare to be rolled on the floor or in need of an extra pair of pants. (didn't even dare to edit any of the interview. Too funny!) Co-host: Deddy Sebayang. @inibukandiskusi

    Leading Active Lifestyle: Marino Baroek

Groomed as an athlete in Rumbai since he was 9 years old, Marino has built his life in and around sports. An established swimmer in his early years and a basketball player in the later years have helped him to decide his fate on going to the best school while also meeting his wife. However, being an athlete that he was, hyperthyroid has not been kind to him. BUT, that does not mean he lost his fitness. That just means that he needs to be smarter when exercising. And now even when he is too shy to admit his six-pack-ness, we had a great time reminiscing all of our lives with Marino. Do enjoy! Co-host: Deddy Sebayang. @inibukandiskusi

    Leading Active Lifestyle: Thya Girindra

As finishers of two full Ironman, Thya Girindra is no ordinary woman. She tells the tale of how strong her love for biking even when it's pouring rain and unlimited hills during a race. This interview is hilarious in two ways: the way she was once a Queen of the Mountain for almost half a day (OMG! too funny) and the tips she gives us on how to stay fresh after any sports activities. Stay tuned! Co-host: Deddy Sebayang. @inibukandiskusi

    Leading Active Lifestyle: Eliana

Looking great apparently takes effort! (duh!) Owner of more than twenty sports bras, Eliana's physique is awesome. And during the interview, she delivers warmth, humor, and how she takes her exercise time seriously. We have a great pleasure interviewing Eliana and getting to know not only present Eliana but also her family, her past, and her favorite athletes! Stay tuned for our singing in the end of the interview. :) Co-host: Deddy Sebayang. @inibukandiskusi

    JAKARTA: Dewi Rosaria Indah

The interview began with an honest purpose of seeing Jakarta the way it was once in the 70s. Little did I know, that Tante Dewi was once and still is, a celebrated young actress. As a recipient of Piala Citra at a super young age, we had the chance to go back in time, listening and reminiscing the way movie industry worked in those Jakarta days. Rina, Ratapan Anak Tiri, Pemberang, and Si Doel Anak Betawi brought to life once again over the interview, and I am completely in a starstruck mode. Hope you enjoy the talk as much as we do! @inibukandiskusi

    JAKARTA: Albertus Prawata

When you think about sustainability, big ideas come to mind. You know, that most complicated, most cumbersome, out of this world-tangled of webs, that the more you think about it, the more tired you become. And then it's gone. However, tonight, we have the privilege to discuss some small-scale methods that each every one of us can contribute to celebrate this great city! JKT Play is one great way to do so, and Berto, an architect and a lecturer, is the absolutely right person to talk to. Hope you are excited with waves of enlightening in all the fifty-nine minutes of the discussion! @inibukandiskusi

    Tue, 23 Mar 2021 08:00:00 GMT
    JAKARTA: Rosa Syahruzad

I love the fact that the more I talked to people, the less confidence I have about me knowing everything about Jakarta. As you can tell, I know close to nothing yet the conversation flows. I love meeting these Jakartans, and tonight, I have the pleasure meeting a 20-something person! Although we have two centuries in between, some things remain the same, although a lot of other things are so different. Keywords for the night would have to be Makaroni Goreng Dadar, Koas Korting, Burger 4ribuan, along with Kramat Jati Indah Mall! So fun. Do tune in! @inibukandiskusi

    Thu, 18 Mar 2021 09:59:22 GMT
    JAKARTA: Lissa Martin

Betawi people, who are they? Living in Jakarta does not always mean that you are the true Jakartans. True Jakartans would be Betawi people. And tonight, we have the privileges to talk with one. Lissa Martin, born and raised in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. Throughout the interview we had the chance to unpack the true meaning of being a Betawi person. The food, the weddings, the traditions, along with the unseen! Haha.. Surely this is another entertaining interview. Do enjoy! @inibukandiskusi

    JAKARTA: Sudaryono Widodo
This is a great source of information and nostalgia of Jakarta in the 70s through the early 90s. Here are some keywords that will instantly bring you back: Aquarius, Sarinah, Restoran Trio-Paramount-Tan Ek Tjoean (correction: Tab Goei), Playboy Kabel, PPD, along with G30S/PKI. Oh how time flies, we are so glad that we get to hear it out from the master! Do enjoy and have fun reminiscing.

Interviewing one of the founder for Jakarta Good Guide tonight! What is exactly Jakarta Good Guide? Who is their customer? What is pay as you wish? Does it really work in Jakarta climate? OMG so many questions. With 30 different routes to choose along with their virtual tour, Jakarta Good Guide is a good start to get to know all parts of Jakarta!

    MARRIAGE STORIES: Reza & Tine

A non-stop fun conversation about cultural diversities in a marriage. Both Reza and Tine come from a mixture of Javanese and Manadonese. Both also come from two Abrahamic religions on either side of their huge families. Yet, both are still surprised when their son chose to be an outstanding 7 years old Cultural Practitioner. And I kid you not, Gaga, their son, is a living wonder for practicing the art of Barong Sai (Chinese origin, or so they say), Ondel-Ondel (Batavia origin, again, so they say), and most recent: Gedruk (Central Java origin, or so they say). A seven years old who already knows his passion. I wonder, we wonder, and everyone wonders how come? I guess by having this discussion, we kind of, however little, able to see the reasons why. Although honestly, still clueless. :) Hope you enjoy delving into Tine and Reza life stories as much as I do!

    MARRIAGE STORIES: Fide & Retha

We can always make future plan with our life. Career-wise, family-wise, marriage-wise (even our burial plot). But sometimes, reality gets in the way. It might not be something that we are ready for, especially if it deviates too far from that polished perfect plan. Same thing goes with marriage. A perfect marriage does not exist. It never does. What you see in social media is a whole different level of bullshit. However, one does wonder, to what extent do we want to sacrifice our own happiness for the sake of being married? What did it take for us to finally choose that different path? It is not easy to train our mind and say 'Hey, this is no longer healthy relationship.' Tonight's conversation is talking basically that. And hey, it is never easy but if you are not happy for years and years and years, then... I'll leave you with your own thought. Hope you enjoy this pleasing discussion!

    MARRIAGE STORIES: Dyah & Mirko

Whatever perceptions that I thought about Italian men AND Javanese women are challenged in this interview. This couple lets me know that coming from two sides of the world, in this case: Javanese woman to an Italian man, is really a challenge. But I like their attitude that no matter where you are in this world, you must find a partner that allows you to be yourself. It's nice to be reminded every once in a while. From rosemary seeds to their eldest loving sambal, from a romantic planned proposal to a quick carport proposal, this is the real deal. This is how marriage works.

    Thu, 18 Feb 2021 09:13:12 GMT
    MARRIAGE STORIES: 'Tiara'

I started the interview with a common misconception that having more than one relationship means that it is all about passion and fire. Talking to Tiara definitely a steep learning curve for me. That as a human who only has one life to live, we need to figure out what it is that we love. What is our intention in doing practically anything? If we find ourselves being easily upset throughout any of our life choices, then we will no longer be happy and unable to manage our own energy. This is not a discussion about how to get out of your relationship in a mischievous way, but instead a life lessons. Zen-like interview.

    Tue, 16 Feb 2021 09:17:04 GMT
    MARRIAGE STORIES: Agnes & Deddy

Coming from a different background along with a slight disapproval from one member of the family did not stop the two to keep the fire alive. What do you know, Javanese and Karo can actually stay together for more that 18 years of marriage? A light comedy for accompanying your family dinner tonight. Do enjoy!

    MARRIAGE STORIES: Andre & Jhenna

If you think all Chinese Indonesians are the same (just like any other ethnicities throughout the globe, they are absolutely not), then listen to this. We will uncover even when the two seemingly have similar cultures, their background may not so. I learned so much and now know something about Hokkien and Kuntien and how the mixing of the two in a marriage is a beautiful little thing. Hilarious and heart-warming.
