雙子座流星雨將在12月中上演！預計流星雨高峰期為12月14日晚上9時，天頂每小時出現率可達到150。受流星雨輻射點位置及月光影響，香港的最佳觀測時間預計為晚上10到11時，期間在偏遠郊區的觀測人士可能會看到10-20顆流星。
高峰期當日，月球會在晚上10時53分升出，明亮的月光會漸漸蓋過較為暗淡的流星，令觀測條件轉差。觀測人士應把握午夜前的時段，並選擇天空視野廣闊及光害程度低的地點。
香港太空館將於當晚9至11時直播這場流星雨，並講解流星雨背後的天文知識，歡迎大家一同欣賞這場流星雨！

The Geminid meteor shower will take place in mid-December! It is estimated that, during the peak at 9 pm on 14 December 2022, the Zenithal Hourly Rate of the meteor shower can reach 150. However, affected by the position of the radiant of the meteor shower and the moonlight, the best observation time in Hong Kong is estimated at 10 pm to 11 pm, observers in remote areas might see 10-20 meteors at that time.
Meanwhile, the moon will rise at 10:53 pm on the peak day. Bright moonlight will outshine fainter meteors and degrade the observation conditions. Observers should plan the observation before midnight and choose a site with a wide field of view and low light pollution.
The Hong Kong Space Museum will livestream the Geminid meteor shower and introduce the science behind meteor showers at 9 pm to 11 pm on 14 December. Let’s enjoy this meteor shower together!
