Gigafactory Texas on 16 September 2022! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

This is a big day for Giga Texas, as three major developments are underway. This is in addition to a stunning amount of progress in multiple other areas all across the construction site and on both sides of the main highway!

The first major development is the excavation and demolition work on the south Model Y parking and transportation ramp. This follows some core drilling in this area we saw on my 9 September video and hints that we may be seeing the start of a major new construction project, possibly related to the lengthening of the overall factory building by around 500 feet or about 150 meters, as suggested would happen last year by Elon Musk.
In order to make this possible, Tesla has to relocate the vehicles from this location and as we will see in the video, that is exactly what they are doing, The new east side car staging and transportation pickup lot is now cleared of temporary trailers and is now in operation, with many Model Y’s here and transport trucks loading them up for movement. The number of parking slots and transport lanes is more than double in this new lot as compared to the temporary one on the south end.
The third major development this morning is the installation of concrete wall panels on the battery cathode plant! This is happening on the south end of the structure, with what appears to be several receiving doors and possibly a personnel access doorway as well. In addition, the concrete slab work on the ground floor is now over 50% completed, while we see a lot of activity on the 2nd and 3rd floors, including stairs, HVAC ducting, steam pipe installation and interior walls. On the roof, the final weatherproof membranes have been completed on the full length of the building, and we see utility pipes and conduit being installed on the northern ground floor ahead of slab construction. Truly, this structure assembly and construction is moving at lightning speed!
A few other notable areas of progress include large sections of grass seeding just south of River Road on the west side of the highway, and landscaping irrigation system plumping being installed along the full length of River Road.
The new receiving doors on the west side of General Assembly are now almost completed and about 90% are in operation this morning, with trailers lined up at nearly every completed receiving door. We also see work on and near the west main entrance, including what appears to be some replacement windowpanes delivered near where some existing panes have been removed.
Activity level on the north end of the main building is also very high, with dozens of new deliveries of large modular equipment, including what appears to be sections of a new Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system that will add to the one already installed between the paint shop and plastics manufacturing sections. This system is designed to remove Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) that are gaseous byproducts of the painting.
The east Warehouse on Wheels yard is now triple the original size and nearly full of trailers, which is a significant and direct indication of production capacity of the factory. More of this eastern staging and storage location is seeing work to reconfigure and transform this entire side of the construction site to relocate storage, staging and trailers to allow for further construction.
Finally, the new electrical substation construction site is buzzing with activity as well, with grade work on the main site nearing completion, deliveries of components needed for the assembly of the substation itself taking place, continued excavation work and storm water pipe installation on the east side, and drilling on the north end to install the 4th and final huge mount for gigantic powerline poles.
