坑口生菜會:
2007年5月9日,被列入廣州市第一批非遺項目民俗類名錄。迄今已有300多年的歴史。
300多年前,坑口村民建起了觀音廟,祈求觀音“超拔眾生離苦海,普渡善信上慈航”。
相傳在三百多年前的某個春天,珠江三角洲一帶遍發瘟疫。有一老嫗,教人們用酸菜、生姜、韭菜、蜆肉混合炒熟,拌上冷飯,用洗凈的生菜葉包好,沾上辣椒醬後食用就能避禍保平安。
後來這一民俗與正月廿六觀音開庫日相結合,逐漸演變成了廣為人知的坑口生菜會。
其中有吃“生菜包”、“搶炮頭”、“摸蜆摸螺”等一類傳統儀式、豐富多彩的民俗活動。

流程:
正月二十四開始有擺放攤位。正月廿五子時,即晚上11點至正月廿六淩晨1點,生菜會的第一個時辰。從坑口村聯誼會開始由兩頭黑獅開路,村民尾隨獅隊一同前往觀音廟,搶上頭柱香。
正月廿六白天,八獅巡遊聯結情誼,共赴生菜宴。約早上8點開始,坑口的兩頭獅在坑口牌坊(花地大道)迎接來自荔灣泮塘、南海鹽步、番禺上漖的獅子,再一同進行八獅巡遊。

筵席的菜肴有4種必備主菜:生菜包、齋菜、生菜魚丸、慈姑豬肉,還有粉絲、支竹、蜆肉炒酸菜等菜式。

Kengkou Lettuce Fair:
On May 9, 2007, it was listed in the first batch of Guangzhou's non-material cultural heritage projects under the folk category. It has a history of over 300 years.
More than 300 years ago, the villagers of Kengkou built a Guanyin Temple to pray to Guanyin, "to save all beings from the sea of suffering and guide them to the path of compassion."
Legend has it that in a spring more than 300 years ago, a plague broke out in the Pearl River Delta region. An old woman taught people to mix pickled cabbage, ginger, Chinese chives, and clam meat, stir-fry them, mix them with cold rice, wrap them in clean lettuce leaves, and dip them in chili sauce to avoid misfortune and ensure peace.

Later, this folk custom combined with the Guanyin Treasure House Opening Day on the 26th day of the first lunar month, gradually evolving into the widely known Kengkou Lettuce Fair. It includes traditional rituals such as eating "lettuce parcels," "racing for the first firecracker," and "feeling clams and snails,"

Booths are set up starting from the 24th day of the first lunar month. The first hour of the Lettuce Fair is from the 25th day of the first lunar month at midnight, from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. On this day, starting from the Kengkou Village Association, two black lions lead the way, followed by villagers and the lion dance team heading to the Guanyin Temple to compete for the first incense offering.

On the 26th day of the first lunar month, eight lions parade to strengthen bonds and attend the lettuce feast together. Starting around 8 a.m., the two lions from Kengkou greet lions from Pantang, Yanbu, and Zengjiao at the Kengkou Archway (Huadi Avenue) before embarking on an eight-lion parade.

The feast menu includes four essential dishes: lettuce parcels, vegetarian dishes, fish balls with lettuce (symbolizing prosperity and good fortune), and arrowhead and pork (symbolizing the birth of a healthy baby). Other dishes include vermicelli, bean curd sticks, and clam meat stir-fried with pickled cabbage.
