Gigafactory Texas on 11 September 2022! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
Rare Sunday flight, but I had some really great reasons for it! First, I met up with Felix and the WhatAboutIt (WAI) crew just coming in from a trip from Cape Canaveral, Florida for the NASA Artemis and SLS launch attempt and SpaceX rocket engine testing at McGregor, Texas, just a bit north of Austin. I had a great time talking Giga Texas and Space topics with everyone and generally had so much fun, I forgot to get video or many images. If you haven’t checked out Felix’s channel, I recommend you do so for great Space community discussion and information. Link is below in the sources section.
I also wanted to take the opportunity of a quiet Sunday and discuss a recent development involving the Boring Company beginning a tunnel at Giga Texas. In the video introduction, I go into many related developments I’ve previously covered in videos from November 2021 to present, and then provide some speculation as to how all of this comes together with the new Boring Tunnel project and what it may mean for the public and Giga Texas in the future.
In the main video, I then fly over much of the areas discussed in the intro, providing narration along the way to hopefully help the viewer put all of this into context. I fly out to the “island” and lake portion of the Giga Texas property to show you exactly how all of this appears.
