東園位於今日東園橫路以南、東園路以東、挹翠路以西、東提路以北，面積約25,000平方米，大門開於正南。 過去園區荷花池兩旁原各有一八角亭，正北有東園主要建築物－西式二層洋房「紅樓」（現樓為1984年重建）在向公眾開放後，曾改為茶樓，當時園內還 有一座竹棚和一些店。
1964年，東園遺址被列為廣東省級文物保護單位，名為「省港罷工委員會舊址」。
東園現遺存有門樓，石橋式磚木結構，登記門牌是挾翠路33號，園內存原物僅有一荷花池。 門樓位置隱蔽馬路後面，一般市民難覓食其蹤。
門樓正中為拱門，上方嵌有行楷陰刻“東園”石額，上款“宣統庚戌(即1910年)冬月”，下款“鄰水李準書”及印章。 門樓兩側石額的位置裝飾有灰塑動物、捲草、連珠紋等圖案。

Dongyuan is located south of today's Dongyuan Heng Road, east of Dongyuan Road, west of Yicui Road, and north of Dongti Road. There is a gatehouse and stone bridge-style brick and wood structure remaining in the East Garden. The registered house number is No. 33 Yicui Road. There is only one lotus pond in the original garden. The gatehouse is hidden behind the road, making it difficult for ordinary citizens to find it.
In the middle of the gatehouse is an arch, with a stone inscription of "East Garden" in regular script embedded above it. The upper inscription reads "Winter Month of Xuantong Gengxu (i.e. 1910)", the lower inscription "Linshui Li Zhunshu" and a seal. The stone foreheads on both sides of the gatehouse are decorated with gray sculptures of animals, curly grass, beaded patterns and other patterns.
