Professional Air Hockey - Puck Flutter and POP #airhockey #arcade

In professional Air Hockey, a puck that pops up and flutters around the table remains in play as long as it doesn't touch anything other than the table top, mallets or the sides of the rails. If it grazes the top of the rail, or hits something else, then it's considered off the table and play stops (there are a couple exceptions, but in general that's the way it works). If that were the case, possession of the puck would go to the player who did NOT make the last offensive strike on the puck.

Here we see previous World Champion Jacob Weissman of Texas hit a shot against current World Champ Colin Cummings of Hawaii. The puck flutters, but stays in play. The referee confirms it is still in play, and Weissman then sets up a crisp cut shot that pops in the goal as Cummings pulls to block a right wall bank, leaving the opposite side of his goal slightly open.
