First Republic Bank (FRC Stock) reported earnings today and it was BAD. Although deposits stabilized over the last month, on the quarter, the bank suffered a massive outflow that now leaves it holding more loans from the Fed than customer deposits. I go over the 5 key takeaways from the First Republic Earnings and explain why the lack of conference call or even earnings presentation, could lead to investors selling off the stock even more. The earnings also brought to life the issue of paying interest on Fed loans while customer deposits drop and revenue drops for banks. There was a lot to digest and will continue to be tomorrow, but for now, the FRC stock is already down over 20% and tomorrow will probably be just as big.
