Hong Kong's heaviest storm in years brought extensive damage to the city, as floods gushed into malls and landslides blocked roads. More than a hundred people were treated in hospital, with four in serious condition. The extensive downpour triggered Hong Kong's longest black rainstorm warning since 1999, at over 16 hours. A black rainstorm signal is the highest thunderstorm alert in the city, and it typically means Hong Kong will experience 70mm of rainfall.
