China Draws Afghanistan Parallel With Taiwan Over US Support; Taipei Calls Beijing ‘Delusional’

Chinese media is playing up the rhetoric about the US’ decaying global hegemony. Beijing has stepped up efforts to underline the narrative that the Afghan chaos should be a lesson to US-dependent countries in Asia. China's official news agency, Xinhua, called the U.S. "the world's largest exporter of unrest”. But much of the Chinese Media’s commentary focused on Taiwan. America’s chaotic withdrawal from Kabul gave a timely opportunity to Chinese media to warn Taiwan. Several state-controlled media said that Taiwan shouldn't rely on US protection in their long-running dispute with China.
