Earl Davis, head of fixed income and money markets at BMO Global Asset Management, and John Manley, senior advisor at Bennett Jones and the former deputy PM and former finance minister of Canada, joins BNN Bloomberg to discuss the BoC's decision to hold firm on the pause. Davis discusses his view of it being a 'hawkish pause' this time around as the BoC needs to balance stubborn inflation and says getting CPI from 3 per cent to 2 per cent will be a major challenge. Manley notes that he saw no fiscal restraint in the federal budget and says it’s not helping the inflation picture, or the outlook for the banks.
