Diversification is Good but Over-Diversification is not good.
And that is why if you are investing in 12 to 15 mutual funds then you are investing in an entire market. And if you want to generate market returns then you can directly invest in an index fund and can save so much money which you are literally giving away as an expense ratio to all these mutual funds.
And that is why personally in my opinion having 3 mutual funds in the portfolio is good enough. Where I personally invest in 2 Flexicap funds and one passive Sensex Index Fund. And I think this works best for me.
