Kimberly DaCosta better know by her stage name, Kové, born in the island of Jamaica but raised in Brooklyn New York. A tough and turbulent upbringing in the Atlanta neighborhood of Godby Road-Old National College Park molded Sleepy Rose and encouraged him to blossom into a formidable MC who translates his struggles into stories. Locked up for two years, he started rapping by tapping out a beat anywhere—from on his chest to the doors and walls of the jail. Upon his release, he turned heads with his first YouTube upload “Gangsta.” Following the death of his sister whom the family referred to as Rose, he tattooed a rose on his face in tribute and as a reminder: “We rose up out of the gutter. American songwriter, artist, filmmaker, Dj, actor, and content creator. Born in Atlanta, Ga Gregory Edwards aka Dj Westside was raised on a street named Ashby near Simpson Rd and The Bluff which is now known as the english avenue community. While being surrounded by crime, drugs, violence and other negative influences Westside always wanted to do something to help his family and would express himself through making music. He took his closet in a ran down apartment and transformed it into a recording booth and every talent from the neighborhood would come to rap and make records. Some of those artist would later become great names being acts like Young Scooter, Rich Homie Quan, 24 Heavy and others. Westside would keep working on music all the way up until he moved out of his dad’s apartment to eventually build his own studio and take on the title as a Producer / Artist. Things were up and down with music until two of Westside’s mentors Greg Taylor and Theophilus “Chip” Glass would introduce him to Xavier Hargrove (Dj Big X) who was the Ceo Of The Coalition Djs. After being introduced to X, Westside found himself becoming more involved with being a Dj more than a producer & artist as he would start gigging in clubs and producing on the side. This would be the start of something amazing, with the influence of the Coalition Djs who are currently some of the most influential figures in the music industry Westside’s career would become bigger than he could imagine. Westside would go from a Dj in the club to a Dj and filmmaker traveling the world with some of the biggest names in the game. Westside’s first american tour would be with artists Kevin Gates, and Solo Lucci, following that he would meet Jamal Inman who introduced him to international superstar Akon who later become a big brother figure. After years of being in the mix with Akon and various other huge names Westside decided to start mentoring himself. He met a young man by the Name of Jaymo who he saw much potential in and reminded him of himself so he started working him and they both began producing artists together, Jaymo had a talent with the harp instrument and Westside who was already a filmmaker gave them both a great idea, “you play the harp and I will record it”....This idea would grow from just a thought to a platform where artist could perform and display their talents acoustically. Timeekah Murphy is a celebrity designer and the owner of Alani Taylor, a luxury streetwear brand that launched in 2016 after the birth of her daughter Alani Taylor Murphy. You may have already seen some of her designs since her work has already been featured on A-listers like Beyoncé, Cardi B and DaBaby since making her mark on fashion. Her fashion story begins in 2010, when she taught herself how to sew while serving in the military for 12 years. Fashion was not something that she grew up with, but was rather something that “fell in her lap.” Even as a novice to the field, Murphy knew that she wanted to be a “going against the grain type of designer.” Through her designs, Murphy has gone beyond genders, labels, and trends. She instead designs based on the confidence she wants to bring out in others, both men and women. Stylewise, she loves mixing colors and patterns, especially ones that most people would not put together in an outfit, to create androgynous, statement looks. In 2018 she hit her first big break when she did a collaboration with Deviant La Vie for Beyoncé’s Spirit and Bigger videos for the Lion King soundtrack. Followed by the talked about custom fit for Cardi B’s MTV awards appearance. In 2019 Murphy launched a collaboration collection called The Zenith Experience during LA fashion week that blew everyone’s mind. Not only did the collection leave a mark on LA fashion week, but it also caught the attention of Beyoncé once again. Beyoncé’s stylist Zerina Aikens requested that the full collection be sent over to her for Beyoncé’s next project Black is King. Through this unpredictable experience, Murphy also got to connect with DaBaby in 2021 for the Grammys to design a dress for his daughter’s red carpet appearance. DaBaby was amazed by her ambition and drive, and and interested in a collaboration for a streetwear collection, with the release date to be determined. Her most recent project will involve her competing on a reality TV show on HBO called The Hype, in which streetwear designers will compete against each other in different challenges, similar to Project Runway. Growing up on the East Side of Cincinnati, life wasn't easy for Roadrunner TB. Brought up by his grandma, TB lived in the infamous Saint Ledgers Apartment Buildings. From a young age he knew that his only options were to either play sports or sell drugs, making it inevitable for TB to get involved in the streets. Gifted in basketball and football, he soon realized his chances to go pro were slim after tearing his ACL. The Hip Hop/ Crunk group created notable records such as “Knuck if you Buck”, “Stilettos”, “Rock Yo Hips”, “Circles”, and released 2 studio albums, ‘Crime Mob’ and ‘Hated On Mostly’. During the interview, Lil Jay details growing up with his sister Princess and how she and Diamond weren’t originally supposed to be a part of Crime Mob. Lil Jay was influenced musically by the likes of Three6Mafia, Lil Jon, Oomp Camp, Master P, and Pastor Troy and Lil Jay admits to making “Knuck if you Buck”, a song that would forever change his life, on a demo version of a Windows 95 program then he eventually converted to Fruity Loops. “Knuck if you Buck” would later go on to be sampled by several mainstream artists such as King Von, Lil Wayne, and the viral “Juju on the Beat” song. Lil Jay also discusses his intimate relationship with Diamond and how her on and off again relationship with Princess would eventually lead to the demise of Crime Mob. Lil Quill and Yung Mal are frequent guests on The Progress Report and today Lil Quill speaks to Lalaa Shepard in his first interview since being released from jail for probation violation on his birthday just 2 weeks ago. As a journalist and a fan, it felt great to see Lil Quill be so vocal, free-spirited, and in tune with himself and his own voice. If you look back at our interviews from 2016-2018, Lil Quill has come a long way as a person and artist, like we all hopefully have. During the interview, Lil Quill speaks on remaining sober since his release and serving time during the COVID outbreak. Although he wasn’t too vocal about his experience, his reaction shows he definitely was affected as many of us were/are on the outside. Lil Quill mentions that Yung Mal is his greatest influence and the love they have for one another has always been prevalent. Quill also speaks on serving a month in the hole and getting to know himself. Since his release, Lil Quill is more focused on his craft more than ever and he and Yung Mal are planning to start their own record label. Before then, Quill plans to release his third solo project ‘It Could Be Worse’, and adds that it will be dedicated to God. Towards the end of the interview, Quill also hints that he and Yung Mal are preparing to release a long awaited joint project in the near future. In 2017, Veeta Venom connected with another rising female artist, Talone (Bad Girls Club’s Season 16) with their single “Humble”. Veeta then released a 5 track EP titled ‘V-Day’.
