God of War Ragnarok - All Frozen Flame Locations (Axe Upgrades)

There are 8 Frozen Flame Locations in God of War Ragnarok to fully upgrade the Leviathan Axe. Each Frozen Flame grants 1 Upgrade for the Axe. The Axe starts at Level 1, the Maximum is Level 9. Because it already starts at Level 1 this means 8 Frozen Flames are needed to reach Level 9.

None of the Frozen Flames are missable. Most come automatically from the story. You can get the rest after the story in free roam. If you forgot to loot a Frozen Flame you can pick it up from the blue chest at the blacksmith. One of them requires you to get all 6 Frozen Sparks, which come from the 6 Hel Tears. The 6 Frozen Sparks turn into 1 Frozen Flame automatically.

The Frozen Flames and Hel Tears are also included in the Collectible Guide by Region, you will get all of them automatically while going for 100% game completion:
