UNRWA employees were involved in Hamas attack, say reports; UN fires Gaza staff; US suspends funding

Israel has provided UNRWA with information about the involvement of its several employees in the Oct 7 Hamas attacks on Israel. Responding to Israeli allegations, UNRWA has sacked its twelve employees in the Gaza Strip. The US — UNRWA’s leading donor — announced Friday it was suspending additional funding for the organization in the wake of the allegations. Australia, Canada, and Italy have also put a hold on UNRWA funding.
