The following morning, he was rushed into emergency surgery after doctors discovered a spinal epidural abscess. As part of the biportal endoscopic spinal procedure, doctors removed part of his spine bone to drain the abscess. The severity was so bad that doctors said he would likely no longer be with us had they waited one more day. Since surgery, Jim has been paralyzed from the middle of his back down. For the past five and a half weeks, Jim has been trying to keep a positive attitude as he undergoes vigorous rehabilitation and adjusts to a new life without the use of his legs. He still has a ways to go on this new journey, and he will remain in the hospital for 3-4 more weeks, followed by in-patient rehab. Jim is known for his passion for writing and sharing his undying love of professional wrestling and its rich history. While some people regain feeling in their extremities and use of their legs 6-12 months after this procedure, doctors have told Jim to keep an open mind about the reality of living the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Now Jim is not the type to ask for anything. He's told me at least a few times, "I don't want any handouts!" But desperate times have softened his stance on that. The reality of life outside of the hospital is hitting hard. He will require the installation of an electric stair lift in his home, which will cost $10,000—a cost his Medicaid insurance won't cover. However, he has asked that we set the goal to $5,000 so as not to burden others and because his savings, fortunately, allows him to cover around half of the cost. Jim has been a friend I can call brother for many years. After losing my parents during the pandemic, Jim was on video with me daily. Sometimes, more than that. I can't begin to explain how much his friendship means to me, and I know he's got many brothers and sisters spread out all over the globe who feel the same way. My wish is for us to raise enough money to help my friend reach at least half of the cost of the stair lift. Any further money raised will go directly towards the stair lift and other medical and life expenses. I hope the wrestling community and friends alike can rally together behind Jim to help in any way you can. Holly Fields began her acting career at age 6 in Sacramento, where she understudied Molly Ringwald in "Through the Looking Glass". Soon after, her family moved to Dallas, Texas where she became a theater veteran along with her brother. She toured in national theater productions and was in the Broadway cast of "Annie" at age 11. Soon after, she started doing commercials, modeling and local TV shows. At age 13, Holly went to Los Angeles for one month to see what would happen. A week after the move, she was cast in the CBS pilot CBS Summer Playhouse: Fort Figueroa (1988) starring opposite Charles Haid. Her family decided to let her give it a try and moved to Los Angeles. Weeks after, Holly was seen by Christopher Guest and given a part in his film The Big Picture (1989). She quickly began landing leading roles acting opposite such as Michael J. Fox, Christopher Walken, Jennifer Aniston and Burt Reynolds, and being hired by Madonna, Garry Shandling and Chris Carter, among others. Her parents, wanting her to have a normal childhood, moved the family to San Francisco. Soon after, Holly's older brother was asked to join the UCLA medical team and her older sister was accepted into an L.A. design school. So, once again the Fields family moved back to Los Angeles. Holly has an all-girl group named "Zoom" signed to Avex Tracks Records in Japan and produced by Joey Carbone whom she met while filming It's Garry Shandling's Show. (1986). Zeistencroix's a post-industrial band from Los Angeles, California. The band was founded by Orlando Draven (Vocals and songwriter) and is accompanied by Santi (Drums) and AKO (Guitars). Their powerful sound is a blend of metal, industrial, progressive, alternative and goth making their songs fluctuate from heavy music to ethereal cyberpunk vibes guided by Orlando’s throat singing, heavy screaming and harmonious melodies. In 2017 they released their EP titled “Gemini” under the production of Tim Palmer and Bill Metoyer giving a yin yang feel to the album and experimenting with the blend of two different styles in one record cutting the singles “Saturated” and “I Need You Tonight” with respectives videos and press articles on Revolver Magazine and The Huffington Post. Their first full album ”Gen Z” was presented in the middle of 2019 followed by a European tour in the fall of that year. Their US Tour was scheduled for Spring 2020 but it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tim Jacobus is responsible for well over 100 pieces of art. Best known for his cover art work on the R. L. Stine Goosebumps series, Tim is responsible for creating the iconic 62 original series covers, followed by the Goosebumps series 2000, special edition books, calendars and other GBs promotional art. Surprisingly, Goosebumps remains wildly popular today, 25 years after it’s debut in 1992, with new readers every year. Nick Wheeler from The All American Rejects is my guest today on the show . We talk about Nicks career in music as well as his new recording studio . Producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. As the co-founder, lead guitarist, and one of the primary songwriters of The All-American Rejects, he has sold over 5 million albums worldwide, with their single "Gives You Hell" hitting #1 on the Top 40 chart in 2009 and remaining on the charts for 36 weeks. Other hits include "Move Along," "Dirty Little Secret," and "It Ends Tonight," which all ranked in the top 10 on the Billboard Charts. Based in Nashville since 2015, Nickolas is now building Wheelhouse Studio, a freestanding space in East Nashville. In setting up his own studio, he credits historic spots he's worked in – the Village in Santa Monica, Barefoot Studios in Hollywood – in learning how to maximize both workflow and comfortability for artists. Wheelhouse Studio will have isolation, separate control and tracking rooms, as well as a lounge, kitchen, and outdoor courtyard space. Nickolas has been recording music since 1996 and making music professionally for almost 20 years. When artists come to record at Wheelhouse Studio, they can expect to feel taken care of by a producer who's ready to guide them to the next stage of their career and accomplish whatever they're wanting to create. The studio is a space for Wheeler to work with artists and writers "who are excited and passionate about what they're doing and open to collaboration in a vibey, comfortable, professional space." After attending Oklahoma State University for music theory, Nickolas has since honed his skills through an Advanced Certificate in mixing, engineering, and orchestration at Berklee College of Music, as well as becoming an Avid Certified Pro Tools User. Nickolas is also endorsed by Warm Audio, an Austin-based company that makes "some great reproductions of classic gear": he has their version of a Pultec EQP-1A, an LA-2A compressor, and several microphones. Wunder Audio (another Austin-based company) is also custom-building a console for the studio. As a guitar player, his guitar collection is in the triple digits – not to mention an extensive microphone collection: "I've collected a lot of fun toys to play with over the years from the road, stopping at music shops or things I've been inspired by in other studios that I felt I needed a version of in my own space." Though he's primarily someone who works best in the studio recording and producing music, Nickolas likes to develop a rapport with artists through writing with them. He's written with Welshly Arms, Never Loved, and Cassadee Pope ("What The Stars See," which he also produced), as well as several local independent artists in the rock, alternative, and pop music world in Nashville. Now signed to Waldman Management, because of his team and tools like Zoom, Nickolas has had his busiest and most successful year yet. Working digitally has allowed him to work with more artists outside of Nashville – and expand his repertoire in the process. Nickolas is the recipient of several ASCAP Pop Awards, and in 2007, he was the recipient of the ASCAP Vanguard Award. He was also inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2008. More than two decades of experience have primed him with the knowledge, passion, and drive to launch his own freestanding studio. Master Pesina has been studying martial arts continuously since 1970, when he was introduced to Judo by his two older brothers. He has trained under many masters including Guo Jian Hua (In door student of Wen Jingming and Lui Yuhua), Zhu Baozhen (Luo Chengli, He Zhong Xiang, He Zhong Qi), Hu Jianqiang (Shaolin Temple movie fame), Wai Lun Choi (Lui He Ba Fa grandmaster), and Lin Jian Hua (head judge for international Wushu federation), to name a few. Master Pesina is perhaps most famous for his work as Johnny Cage and the ninjas in the first two Mortal Kombat games. He has also worked on films such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze, Book of Swords, Press Start, and Mortal Kombat Fates Beginning, winner of the 2015 Urban Action Showcase Best MK Film award.
