My family and I decided to forego artificial food dyes 2.5 months ago. I posted a reel a couple weeks ago that got quite a bit of attention. While most of the feedback was positive, I did get a lot of mean and negative comments. So in this episode I read some of the negative comments I received, and I explain why I rarely tell my son no... and why you should try to avoid the word "no" too. The ultimate compliment for me growing up was "Have you lost weight?" or "You've lost weight- you look so good!" Little did they know, these people were encouraging my eating disorder. This is just one example of why we need to stop commenting on people's weight. Weight is not the only indicator of health, and we need to stop listening to diet culture!

I try to be as transparent and vulnerable with you guys as possible. I finished my first Strongman competition!! This has been an amazing journey training for and competing in my first Strongman meet. In this short episode, I talk about how love is given, not earned. As perfectionists, we want to be liked by everyone, but that isn't possible. We have to put our mental health first, and realize that we are not in control of who likes us or loves us. While we like to control as much as we can in our lives, who loves us isn't one of them. We need to recognize that we have to let go of that sense of control and realize that we were put on this earth to please God, not anyone else.

Welcome to my first episode! In this episode, I talk about 5 steps that I've implemented into my life to help ease the pressure of my obsession with perfection. These steps include embrace change, learning how to change your mindset around failure, setting boundaries (say no!) and learning when to quit. Aiming for perfectionism shouldn't be the goal. Perfectionism doesn't equal happiness, so if we want to be happy, we must learn not only how to be imperfect, but how to be okay with being imperfect.
