그룹 방탄소년단(BTS)의 RM과 뷔가 오늘(11일) 오후 현역으로 군에 입대합니다. 내일(12일)은 지민과 정국이 입대할 예정입니다. RM은 전날 팬덤 플랫폼 위버스를 통해 "지난 10년간 방탄소년단으로 살 수 있어서 너무 행복했다"며 "이 시기가 우리 모두에게 낯설고 새로운 영감과 배움의 시기가 될 거라 믿는다"고 소감을 전했습니다. 그는 "잠시 동안 안녕"이라며 "언제 어디서든 우리가 우리이도록! 미래에서 만나자"고 인사도 건넸습니다. 뷔는 지난 5일 위버스 라이브를 통해 "설렌다"며 "같이 (군대에) 가는 친구들이 저보다 어릴 수 있겠지만 그들과 이야기하면서 새로움도 얻을 수 있을 것"이라고 기대감을 나타냈습니다. 멤버들과 소속사 측은 팬들에게 입영 당일 훈련소에 찾아오는 것은 삼가달라는 당부도 함께 전했습니다.

K-pop juggernaut BTS' RM and V will begin their mandatory military service later today (December 11, KST). The two members are known to start their military service as active-duty at the Nonsan Recruit Training Center, located in Chungcheongnam-do, a southwestern province of South Korea. The remaining members of the group―JIMIN and JUNGKOOK―are also set to enlist tomorrow, on December 12. All four members and their agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, have repeatedly asked fans not to visit their training centers as there would be no separate official sending-off events to prevent any safety concerns caused by congestion. In South Korea, all able-bodied men are required to serve in the military for at least 18 months. In December last year, BTS' oldest member JIN became the first member to begin his military service; followed by J-HOPE in April. Another member SUGA started his military service as a social service worker in September, as he was ruled unfit for regular combat duty due to his past shoulder injury. As all BTS members are expected to be fully discharged from the service in June 2025, the members expressed their hopes to resume activities as a full group around that year.
