Phoenix singer songwriter River Iris skillfully fuses a polished pop sound with soulful, confessional songwriting, and pulsing electronic elements that recall Tori Kelly, Halsey, and Alicia Keys. Poetic and simultaneously direct, her songwriting bridges the gap between music as an expression of identity and a form of therapy. Her latest single, Consider Me Confused, was written in Nashville with 2 time #1 hit songwriter Paul Sikes. The song showcases a vulnerability in lyrics and voice that define her sound. River just wrapped up recording her next EP ‘Tactile Hallucinations,’ to be released in 2023.
On episode #30, Brittney Novelli takes me (Tanner Siegfort) to DJ school with the ins and outs of the art of DJ'ing. Even though Tanner is a professional DJ himself, he has always only worked weddings and corporate events, making him curious about original festival DJ sets.
Apologies in advance or the video cutting in and out. I'll eventually perfect this 🤦🏻♂️
Levi is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. His smooth vocals and live-looping ability has made him one of the most entertaining artists to see live in Arizona.
This was Levi's first podcast experience and he could've fooled me; leading conversations into important topics of the music industry. I couldn't believe we went 2.5 hours, but that 2.5 hours are filled with great conversation. We hope you enjoy!
Every once in awhile, a conversation goes a completely different way than what I anticipate, and this is one of those conversations that I feel like made an impact on my life. Ben Alston is such a wise person with so many great thoughts on life in general. We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did recording it.
On episode #27, Brittney Novelli joins the podcast to talk about our negative experiences in the music industry, and how to navigate the ups and downs.
On episode #26 of Great Exposure, Jenny Teator is nice enough to take time out of her busy schedule while touring through Phoenix to sit down for a conversation. Jenny reached out to me in 2023 wanting to pick up some gigs while touring through Phoenix, and upon watching her videos and listening to her original songs, I knew I had to book her as much as I could. A little about Jenny...
As a nationally touring artist, you may have seen Jenny rock out at festivals such as Denver Day of Rock, Mile of Music in Appleton, WI and Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, IL where she secured her performance by winning the Nashville competition “Road to Summer Camp.” Her song “Daughter of the Devil” was featured in HBO’s “The Hype” and her song “Whiskey With Me” led her to collaborations and performances with brands such as Jack Daniels, Bulleit Bourbon, George Dickel and more. The music video also premiered on CMT.
Jenny, a natural talent, can hold a crowd of thousands in the palm of her hand through her compelling storytelling in her original music and jamming out to a familiar favorite. She has shared the stage with various acts such as Hannah Wicklund, Cowboy Mouth, Restless Road and Candlebox with her full band, and traveling the country putting on acoustic house concerts along the way. “Music is therapy for me and so many people. If I can give value to others like that, my desire to make music will never fade.”
Jenny’s journey is more than just a story of musical success; it's a testament to her unwavering commitment to forging her own path. In a world often dominated by genre labels, she boldly champions the idea that good music knows no boundaries. Rhinestone Rock has become a symbol of inclusivity, welcoming all who share a love for music that transcends genre constraints. With an impressive repertoire of 12 singles and an eagerly anticipated debut album slated for release in the fall of 2024, Jenny's unwavering commitment to her craft has firmly established her as a rising star in the music industry.
I had the pleasure of sitting down with my friend, Joey Gutos. Throughout his early years, he wrote and recorded music with numerous projects until he hit his stride in the music industry when he formed Sunset Voodoo with co-songwriter Lucas Roth and drummer Rocky Yañez. Sunset Voodoo has played throughout the southwest, making notable appearances at Pot of Gold Music Festival, Apache Lake Music Festival and has headlined numerous Arizona venues including Marquee Theatre and Crescent Ballroom. The band has released three EPs and is currently putting the final touches on their debut full-length album. Gutos has also served as the lead guitarist for other AZ-based artists Something Like Seduction, Bob Rabbit and Rachael Beck.
I had a blast getting into deep subject matters, and we also wrote a song (kind of) with AI! Let's not make a habit of that...
I hope you enjoy episode #25 with Joey Gutos.

A singer-songwriter raised by die-hard Deadheads in the Cave Creek desert, you'll find Haley strumming an acoustic guitar and singing with her signature bluesy-reggae-folk style, performing a mix of original music and beloved cover songs.
Haley has become a friend over the years working with Groove Booking and she s a pleasure to work with. Her talent is amazing and she's a ton of fun to be around. I hope you enjoy our conversation on episode 21 of Great Exposure!
Kyle Kovalchick is an experienced artist, song writer, and producer. Since meeting in 2020, Kyle has performed 100's of gigs with Groove Booking with rave reviews on his song choice, and smooth and sultry vocals.
It was a pleasure to have a good friend on the podcast where we go deep into talks about producing music, the business in general, and as always, other random topics.
I hope you enjoy epsiode 20 with Kyle Kovalchick.
And as of 8/23/23, congrats to Kyle and his wife Jenna on the birth of their first child!!
On this week's episode of Great Exposure, I am so pleased to welcome Colton Avery. Him and I go way back, and it's great to have his talent back in AZ, even if just for a bit.
Colton has had quite major success in his original career, as well as writing for other artists.
I hope you enjoy my conversation with Colton Avery!
Getting to know Jesse Francheterre has been such a treat. I hope you enjoy this podcast with my dog chaos and all.
Jesse French is a singer/songwriter in the Phoenix area. "Music has been my life since I was a kid, and when I started doing community work in adulthood, I knew I wanted to create a career that combined those two things. I love to play songs that people can dance and sing along to, engage with audiences, and my desire is simply to be a happy addition to your party, wedding, or event".
We have video! Hopefully from now on...
My guest today is....
Brian Chartrand has certainly made a name in Arizona; but also all over the country, and Europe.
Brian is part of the original trio "The Sweet Remains", the band leader of "Live from Laurel Canyon" which is a show based on songs and stories of American Folk Rock with narrated stories of some of the most influential songwriters who lived in Laurel Canyon in the mid 1960's and 70's, and his own original self titled project.
Brian is also the host of his own podcast called "So The Story Goes".
I hope you enjoy the episode.
I hope you enjoy episode 14 with Jordan Thropay.
