2023 BYD Yangwang U8 in-depth Walkaround
The BYD YangWang is a luxury brand under BYD, a top EV manufacturer in China. Recently, the brand unveiled its first high-end electric SUV, the BYD YangWang U8. Built on the new e⁴ platform, this vehicle boasts four electric motors with a combined output of 1,100 hp and 1,280 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just three seconds. Notably, the U8 features tank-to-turn and water-floating modes, adding to its appeal. The starting price of the U8 is expected to be around 800,000 RMB (116,250 USD).
The dimensions of the U8 have also been revealed, measuring 5319/2050/1930 mm, with a wheelbase of 3050 mm. For comparison, the U8 is 502 mm longer, 137 mm narrower, and 39 mm lower than the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, although its wheelbase is 160 mm longer. It's worth noting that the G-Class is wider than the U8 due to its wheel arches. Additionally, the U8's small R20 275/60 wheels may appear disproportionate given its size.
