GB News presenter Darren Grimes has slammed the UK government for pushing through with a “net zero orthodoxy” as families face rising power bills.

Four out of five UK businesses say high energy bills will force them to raise prices in the next two years, according to a PricewaterhouseCoopers survey.

According to research from Citizens Advice, the number of people in energy bill debt has topped 5.3 million.

Mr Grimes criticised the government’s “utter insanity” with its push to renewables.

“We have got sky-high inflation, and the economists are saying to us Rita, well, this is exactly the problem of approaching these so-called reliable renewables which are anything but,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
