Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell spoke to reporters Wednesday after the Fed raised its benchmark interest rate to 5.5%, the highest level in more than 20 years. In June, the Federal Reserve announced it was pausing interest rate hikes after 15 months of consecutive increases.
