Very nice game for Mac as he lead his team in scoring with 10 points, tied for the assists lead with 2, and also had 0 turnovers. I wish the game had a larger target score, like 60 or 80 as I felt the game was way too short.
In other news, as we all know, Mac has signed a 2 way contract with the 76ers. What does this mean for Mac? Well obviously he's now officially an NBA player again which is great. He'll also be making a lot more money now. That said, as far as the NBA side of things, not much is likely to change for him anytime soon.
Louis King signed his 2 way with the Sixers about 2 months ago and has yet to play a single second for the Sixers or even be called up for practice and to sit on the bench. In fact, the only time any of the 2 ways have spent any time with the big club was when they had a bunch of guys out with injury, and even then they only played garbage time.
Now, assuming he's still on the 2 way when the G League season ends, he'll be able to spend about 2 weeks with the big club, but will likely only see a few minutes of garbage time unless playoff seeding is set at the end of the year and the Sixers sit all their starters for the last game or two of the season.
I say all that to say that while the 2 way is great and a step in the right direction, just being realistic, unless the Sixers get ravaged by injury all the sudden, it will likely not result in much if any NBA playing time aside from maybe a few minutes of garbage time. Now hopefully if he spends those last 2 weeks of the season with the big club, he can at least impress the coaches in practice and improve his chances of earning a roster spot next season.
