A powerful M6.8 earthquake on the border of China and Tajikistan took people by surprise

According to the US Geological Survey, a series of earthquakes occurred in Tajikistan, the strongest of which had a magnitude of 6.8. However, local reports said the epicenter was in a sparsely populated area.
The main earthquake occurred 67 kilometers west of Murghab, Tajikistan, and at a depth of 20 kilometers underground.
The quake was strongly felt across the border in China in some parts of Kashgar prefecture and Kizilsu.
