The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for two Russian military commanders over alleged war crimes committed in Ukraine.
Sergei Kobylash, who is a Lieutenant General in the Russian Armed Forces and Viktor Sokolov an Admiral in the Russian Navy, are accused of war crimes for directing attacks on civilian objects and for causing excessive incidental harm to civilians.
The pre-trial chamber of the Hague-based Court issued the arrest warrants determining that there are reasonable ground to believe that the two suspects bear responsibility for missile strikes carried out by the forces under their command against Ukrainian electric infrastructure.
