Leonardo da Vinci's world-famous Mona Lisa masterpiece has been targeted by environmental activists at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

Two climate change activists - part of the environmental group ‘Riposte Alimentaire’ - can be seen throwing soup at the painting, demanding "healthy and sustainable food" for all.

The demonstration comes amid protests from French farmers who are demanding better pay, taxes, and regulations.

French police have confirmed two people were arrested.
