眾所周知烏克蘭戰場上除了俄烏雙方的正規軍外，還有大量的外籍兵團。這些士兵不遠千里來到烏克蘭戰場上，要麼是拿錢辦事，要麼就是純粹志願參戰。常出現在戰場的有波蘭籍雇傭兵、格魯吉亞籍雇傭兵、英國籍雇傭兵等。然而令人沒想到的是，戰場上竟然還有來自白俄羅斯的志願兵與烏軍並肩作戰。這支由白俄羅斯志願兵組成的戰鬥團，名為卡斯圖斯·卡利諾夫斯基團。其下轄有三個步兵營約1500名兵力。早在俄烏戰爭爆發的初期，這支戰鬥團就已經進入烏克蘭北部地區，同烏軍一道抵擋俄軍。頓巴斯戰鬥打響後，這支部隊被部署到了盧甘斯克戰場。
