第一集不外乎介紹自己、節目名字的由來、對南橫情有獨鍾的原因，以及未來節目走向。
主持人原本想走跳國際，卻輾轉到池上打工換宿，開啟在台東生活的契機。Talum，是之前在南橫當老師時布農主任給的名字，跟主持人體格一樣又高又瘦。為了「學以致用」文學修辭，還故意搞個「alliteration」押頭韻，硬要把ㄋ、ㄌ的音重複，搞得名字很難唸！因為小時的回憶再加上南橫當不正經老師的經驗，讓Talum對南橫情有獨鍾。
Talum 會分享自己在南橫歷經的事情、南橫景點的知識、享受南橫的方法。另外也會分享如何透過鄉下經驗自我成長、接軌國際，以及解答鄉下生活的各種問題。
