Jared Leto on Becoming Michael Morbius | Rotten Tomatoes

Jared Leto has been an enigmatic presence in Hollywood for a long time, but rarely has he taken on a lead role in a feature film, and never has he played anything quite like the title character in 'Morbius.' Based on the Spider-Man-adjacent Marvel comic book, the film centers on a brilliant scientist named Michael Morbius who, in an effort to cure himself of a rare blood disease, inadvertently transforms himself into a vampire. Ahead of the film's release, Leto sat down to tell us exactly how he prepared for the challenging role, explaining that it was extra difficult because it essentially called for three characters in one: the frail Dr. Morbius, the strong, renewed Dr. Morbius, and the monstrous vampire that Dr. Morbius must work to suppress. Leto discusses diving deep into the rich source material, exploring the human fascination with vampires, and the honor of bringing a Marvel character to the big screen for the first time.
