For the third season of ‘Genius,’ National Geographic dives into the life – and artistic genius – of Aretha Franklin. The Queen of Soul is played by a queen of Broadway and the West End – and lately film and TV – in Cynthia Erivo, who sat down with Rotten Tomatoes to talk about the honor and challenges of playing the “Respect” singer.
