GameStop Stock GME and AMC Stock has been restricted by Brokers like TD Ameritrade! This is BREAKING NEWS where a broker has decided that GME Stock GameStop Stock and AMC Stock cannot be traded anymore on their platform. This is unprediented and sets a bad tone for retail investors - should brokers be able to control what we buy and sell, and when we are able to buy and sell it? Are these rules fair to retail investors?
TD Ameritrade claims that they are doing this to protect their brokerage and protect their clients, but is this deeper than that? Are they really just trying to protect their Hedge Fund peers who may be short GameStock stock, or AMC Stock, or one of the other many short squeezed stocks (Blackberry Stock, Nokia Stock, BBBY Stock, Express Stock, etc.)?
