Hi Everyone! If you are here, I’m so grateful for your time. Here’s a little bit about me and how I ended up on YouTube land!

I was born in Hong Kong to professional musician parents from Fujian, grew up mostly in Singapore and attended UC Berekley in California, majoring in Economics. My first job was working as an investment banker in Hong Kong, and subsequently at a tech startup in San Francisco. I went through a major bolt of quarter life crisis because of dad’s sudden passing. I was jolted to the realisation that we only live once. So I moved form San Francisco to New York, where I’ve always wanted to live, to attend fashion school at Parsons. Meanwhile, I also trained full time as a competitive latin ballroom dancer. During my time in New York, I worked for Marchesa and Donna Karen Ateliar, and went on to start my own couture dance wear brand, Dianna Designs.

In college, I discovered latin ballroom dancing which undoubtedly changed my life. I went from being a complete music nerd (I grew up playing piano and flute, like every other asian kid XD) to being someone who was in touch with my body. I was teased for being a cubby girl while growing up. Dancing made me trim. My husband, Donovan, was my dance partner, and we had an incredible time dancing and competing throughout our college life. We continued to train intensely and compete at higher levels nationally and internationally after college. It’s an unusual and all consuming hobby, as all latin ballroom dancers would know. It equipped me with confidence, sass, and knowledge about fitness and nutrition.

Donovan and I moved to Beijing immediately after getting married in Mexico in 2014. He received a great opportunity to work for Xiaomi, and I decided to support his move. Furthermore, being an only child, I wanted to move closer to my mum who still lives in Singapore. Our chapter in China has also been completely transformative. It was eye-opening to see this nation of 1.3billion grow and change at lightning speed. During our 5 years there, we added Sebastian (Sebie) and Kilian (Kiki) to our family. My self identity was completely demolished and rebuilt. I went from being a high-flying entrepreneur to being a stay at home mum. I went from dancing 20 hours a week to barely exercising at all in 5 years. The sacrifices women and mums make for their families are absolutely incredible. The challenges of motherhood blindsided me. At the same time, there’s no love like the love between a mum and her young children.

I decided to start making videos in 2020, on my 35th birthday after winning a scholarship to an online video making course through Nas Academy. I’ve always been so enthusiastic about sharing my life, discoveries and passions with friends and family, Now with videos, I want to tell stories of amazing women and mums, who deserve to be heard.
