Jaylen Brown contract extension talks with the Boston Celtics are expected to resume this next week after Brown returns from a trip to Spain, according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. The Celtics can offer Brown a contract worth up to $304 million, which would be the largest total contract in NBA history. Will the Celtics give brown the full supermax, or will they try to negotiate for a lower price? Celtics GM Brad Stevens has reiterated his desire to keep Brown with Jayson Tatum for as long as possible, but that hasn’t stopped Jaylen Brown trade rumors from happening.

According to Steve Bulpett of Heavy, the Celtics have shut down Brogdon trade talks from other NBA teams, as the Celtics intend to keep Brogdon on Joe Mazulla’s Celtics roster to start the 2023-24 NBA season. Brogdon got injured in the 2023 NBA playoffs, but is still a valuable member of the Celtics’ backcourt alongside Derrick White and Payton Pritchard.

“There was an assumption among some NBA clubs that Malcolm Brogdon was up for grabs in the trade market after he’d already been scheduled to go to the Clippers in the 3-team deal that netted Kristaps Porzingis for the Celtics. But while perhaps every player is available if the right deal comes along, at least one team saw the door shut on its bid when it came calling. ‘We asked about him and we were told he’s a valued member of their team,’ said a league source.”
