Reviewing the Xiaomi 14, absolutely the best mini smartphone you’ll find in 2024, boasting excellent gaming performance, battery life and camera tech. If you want a compact phone that doesn’t compromise, the Xiaomi 14 is a great choice vs Samsung’s Galaxy S24, the iPhone 15 etc. I’ve had my SIM in this small-sized HyperOS hero over a week ahead of the MWC launch so here’s my verdict!

The floating telephoto shooter produces crispy zoom photos and the Xiaomi 14 can also record slick 4K video. Gamers are well serviced by this mini phone too - the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 can run Genshin Impact and other Android titles perfectly.
Battery life is another stunning result for the Xiaomi 14. You get longer life than the Samsung Galaxy S24 and iPhone 15, as it's only gaming and video calls that really drain it fast. Otherwise, expect this smartphone to last two days between charges. And HyperOS gets several years of updates now - but with the same Xiaomi quirks as always.
