Top EU officials to meet Chinese leaders at first in-person summit since 2019

The presidents of the European Council and European Commission will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang in Beijing tomorrow. Both sides are looking to find common ground amid rising tensions. According to EU officials, Ms Ursula Von der Leyen and Mr Charles Michel will urge China to wield its growing influence over Russia to end the invasion of Ukraine. They will also warn against escalating tensions in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Strait. Alex Cadier reports.
