Taiwan’s air force scrambled newly-inducted F-16 vipers as part of a war-simulation exercise on January 5. The latest drill by the Taiwanese Air Force was part of a three-day exercise to demonstrate Taiwan’s combat readiness.
The drills come amid heightened tensions between self-governed Taiwan and China which claims the island. Taiwan authorities said that the drills are being held to reassure the public that the military is on full alert .
