明天10月1日，是美国联邦政府的新财年，但却爆出美国政府可能陷入停摆的危机。由于新财年的预算案，还卡在国会还没通过，因此美国众议院议长麦卡锡，在9月27号提出临时拨款法案，优先推动削减开支、实施移民及边境限制，让联邦政府得以再运作多30天。这项法案在昨天进行表决，却在21名共和党人倒戈的情况下，最终以198票对232票遭到否决，对麦卡锡来说非常尴尬。
