Earlier this month, two upcoming ASUS smartphones with model numbers ASUS_AI2205_A and ASUS_AI2205_B were spotted in the database of a Chinese certification body. These devices are expected to hit the market as ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. Today, reliable whistleblower Digital Chat Station leaked the detailed specifications of the younger model.
According to the leak, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 will feature a 6.78-inch E4 AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The ROG Phone 7 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor. The leak claims that the device will have LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0, just like other SD8G2 flagship phones.
The ROG Phone 7 series will run on Android 13 and ROG UI. The younger model will be equipped with a 32-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 5-megapixel camera. According to a recent leak, it will have a Sony IMX766 primary camera. This, of course, is not a bad quality, but it certainly won't be able to surprise us.
The ROG Phone 7 will be equipped with a 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging. It will have IP54 protection against moisture and dust, and will weigh less than 240 grams. The insider claims that the base model of the ROG Phone 7 could cost 3,999 yuan (~$580).
