According to a new analysis, Donald Trump's Truth Social is doing even worse than we could have imagined, with the site experiencing a 93% decline in new signups since it launched last month. This was entirely predictable - and most of us correctly predicted this would happen - but Trump always thinks that he knows better and pushed forward with the project anyway. But there are bigger implications here, as Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump's truth. Social app is still continuing to fail, but it's failing at a rate that I don't think anyone could have predicted. Right? I mean, okay. We all predicted that the thing would fail. Just no nobody thought is going to fail as quickly and as hard as it already has. According new reports, new signups for the app are down 93% since it launched on February 21st. So we're talking about a month and a day or a month and a week. Excuse me, basically, since this thing launched and it's already dropped 93 per percent in people wanting to use it. Let me read this.

Uh, according to the wrap, uh, has only managed to get 1.2 million downloads. When the app was made public on president's day, it quickly reached 800,000 downloads. However, the download pace has only demen ish from there, according to the estimate for this week's total download reports, the social media app was downloaded approximately 60,000 times down 93%, about 60,000 new users in the last week who downloaded the app. And of course, God only knows if you still have to join a wait list before you can even get on the stupid thing. Now, as I said to start this thing off, we all knew this thing would fail, but nobody could have predicted that it would've been quite literally an instantaneous failure. I thought the failure would probably take in oh six months. I said, by the end of the year, you know, it would probably probably go down the same as Trump university and Trump water, Trump stakes, Trump, Taj Mahal, and all the other failures in Trump's life.

I, I could not have predicted that a month after it launched this thing would effectively be dead, but there's lots of reasons why this thing is not working out the way Donald Trump wanted at it to, and, and trust me, this actually is significant. So bear with me for just a moment first and foremost, basic economics, right? Supply and demand. There's no demand for this thing. And there's already even without truth social in over abundance of supply, you've got Gitter, you've got parlor, you've got gab, you've got speech. You've got rumble for the video site. Nothing about those websites and social media apps should have made Trump think that he could be successful with putting another one in the market. Many of them, not all of them, but many of them are already struggling to stay afloat because people just get bored with it. There's nobody to argue with when it's only people on your side. So supply and demand is the blame for most of this mismanagement. Of course you launched before you were ready. You continuously

Had to push back the launch because you weren't ready. People were annoyed with it before it even launched, not to mention the fact that they couldn't even get on it once it finally did. Then of course you have the fact that even Donald Trump isn't using it. So it's really not a vote of confidence. Here's why this actually does. Okay. This isn't just a haha. They're failing. It's it's a lot of haha they're failing. But the reason this matters is because truth social was supposed to just be the beginning. Donald Trump, didn't just set out to start a social media app. He started out with a media C company, right? This is Trump media. They're supposed to get into, you know, video production and all kinds of other multimedia projects. And it doesn't bode well for the future of this company when they can't even get their first product off the ground, when it's failing a month after it launches, what does that mean for the rest of the company's projects? It likely means they're gonna end up in the toilet before they even launch, which means Donald Trump's multimedia empire is already crumbling before it was even built.
