Donald Trump's new social media site is engaging in some shady behavior, even before they've officially launched. According to reports of people who have tried to sign up, they are being redirected to a fundraising page for the Republican Party in order to complete their signup process. If this is an official requirement, it could create some serious legal issues for the company. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Donald Trump's upcoming social media app launch truth. Social has already been besieged by setbacks. Of course, they had the delay followed by another delay followed by then yet another delay that caused a massive stock drop for digital world acquisitions. But now everything appears to be you on the up and up. Totally gonna launch sometime maybe in March, after not being able to launch on February 21st, like they had wanted, but no, totally on its way. And you can even go ahead and sign up for when the site launches. You're ready to go. There's just problem. According to reports this week, in order to finish the signup process for Donald Trump's new truth, social outlet, you have to give money to the national Republican senatorial committee. Essentially you have to donate money to the Republican party in order to be a user of Trump's social media app. So here's, what's happened when you go in to sign up, you have to put in your name, all that stuff, your email, and a phone number, but see the phone number is optional and you can click a little option that says, I don't wanna give my phone number. And when you do that, you're automatically redirected to a page for the N RSC to donate money to them in lieu of giving your phone number.

So does that mean if you put your phone number in there, you don't have to pay the fee to the Republican party? Oh, no, definitely not. Even if you put your phone number in you're are still then redirected to a website that makes you give money to the national Republican senatorial committee. But of course you can give as little as $1 and the people who tried this did in fact have to do their dollar and then they were officially signed up ready for the launch of Donald Trump's app. And, oh man, does this of legal problems. If part of the platform is that you have to donate money to the Republican party for a publicly traded company.

Ouch. Um, that's got lawsuit written all over it. That's got potential federal charges for violating campaign, finance laws written all over it. You as a privately, well actually it's not even a private. It is a publicly, publicly run company cannot compel people to give money to a political party that is in fact, illegal Republicans have actually used it to prosecute Democrats in recent years and the Democrats have gone to jail for it. And Republicans have of course too. So if that is in fact what is happening here, people are going to go to jail. And now I'm not exactly familiar with the inner workings of Donald Trump's company, but isn't he the, the guy that runs the whole thing. Isn't Devon, Nuez like the president of it too. Like the CEO, something like that. So those two would be the ones legally liable or this outlet compelling people to give money to the Republican party or else you can't, you can't use their app. So yeah, lots of legal problems there. So maybe they'll get this whole thing ironed out before the official launch sometime in the coming month. Because if not, if people are for worse to pay money to the Republican party in order to join this publicly traded app, then yeah, somebody's probably going to jail.
