講到海洋，以往，總覺得東海岸有太平洋的大藍、大浪和迴遊鯨豚
那才叫海洋。那，西海岸呢？
當時我覺得，相較於精彩亮麗的東海岸，台灣海峽就是個不怎麼出色的黑水溝
西海岸除了大都會區之外，就是綿延兒人口稀疏的溼地
當時看來，這就是一大片「荒地」
也因為如此，許多「荒地」在不知不覺中被工業廠房佔領
但這10多年來，我透過生態友人的眼光，重新認識台灣的西海岸
島上數百條溪流在出海口形成的大小溼地
每年迎接從海外來作客的數以千萬計的候鳥
不僅如此，她餵養了各種動、植物---魚、蝦、蟹、蚵、紅樹林...
還提供西海岸農魚人家的溫飽
而他們所產出的作物和漁獲，也餵養了我們這些西海岸的住民
我漸漸的發現，西海岸所謂的荒地，就像是我們的母親
不管你怎麼看她、不管你對她做了什麼，她始終默默的餵養你
還每天給你看到最美的夕陽
我想，我欠西海岸母親一個道歉
所以，我寫了這首曲子送給她 ---《金黃色寧靜》
When it comes to ocean, the east coast of hitting waves, blue water, and whales flashes to our mind.
However, what about the west coast?
At that time, I think, compared to the eastern, there wasn't anything special of the Taiwanese strait.
There was nothing in the west except from the crowded metropolitans and isolated wetlands.
As time went by, numerous industrial factories occupied the plains in the west.
Within 10 years, I rediscovered the west coast through my environmentalist friend: Hundreds of streams flowing to the estuary, and formed wetlands, which attracted thousands of migrate birds and nourished all kinds of animals -- Fishes, shrimps, crabs, mangroves
It also provided support to the fishermen and farmers located in the west coast.
I began to realize that, the plain, the wasteland I used to know, is just like our mother.
No matter what you think of her, what you've done to her, she still feeds us quietly.
And gives us the astonishing scene of sunset.
I think, we owe the mother of the west coast an apology.
Thus, I wrote this song to her -- "Golden Tranquility"
