About 400,000 lower-income households, as well as local businesses, will benefit from a second round of vouchers to be handed out. It's to help people defray the costs of living, while supporting businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic. They can be used for food, as well as essential goods and services at heartland hawker stalls and shops. The CDC Vouchers, worth $20 million, are part of the $75-million grant announced by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat in 2020. The first tranche, also worth $20 million, started rolling out last June.
