At the heart of each Barrett-Jackson auction is the amazing assortment of collector cars, and the diverse 2024 Scottsdale docket kept the arena at WestWorld energized all day on Tuesday, January 23.
One of the most exciting moments was the day’s first car to hit six figures: Nikki Sixx’ (from Motley Crue) 1971 @Chevrolet Chevelle convertible (Lot 181), which crossed the block for $110,000. The Bowtie brand continued to dominate the day’s top sellers. Leading the pack was a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle custom convertible (Lot 195), selling for $121,000. The audience cheered on the bidders when a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS custom coupe (Lot 193.1) sold for $83,600 and a 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 convertible (Lot 199) went to a new home for $82,500.
The first of the complimentary collector car symposiums was held Tuesday, providing guests with a look behind the hobby with the discussion about collectible cars for the next generation. Speakers included Brian Brian Jannusch from Toprank International Vehicle Importers, Jim Pickering from Linkage Magazine, Jay Harden from Cross Thread Media, Sam Stockham the Co-Founder of Mortgage Pros and Tyson Hugie a contributor at the ClassicCars.com Journal.
