The latest Fani Willis disqualification update is less about Fani Willis and more about the Fulton County District Attorney's Office record-keeping.
Most interesting (to me personally): Fulton County seems to be downplaying its exercise of civil forfeiture.
Yesterday, the Chief Operating Officer for the Fulton County District Attorney's office stated that the confiscated funds account would not have an amount close to the $30k necessary to pay just one of Nathan Wade's invoices.
But this is Fulton County, home to Atlanta. Nearly 5x this amount was seized in cash from YSL co-defendant Jeffery Williams/Young Thug in May 2022.
That's one example.
Newsweek had the same lightbulb go off and updated their article today.
To me, a clerical error isn't the elephant in the room - civil forfeiture is. Downplaying it only raises my curiosity.
