Sangenjaya is a cosy neighbourhood located just five minutes from Shibuya on the Tokyu Den-En-Toshi Line.
This area has more bars and restaurant than one can count, and many of them are very popular among the locals. As you can see in this video, the nightlife establishments are centred in a few pockets of older buildings, surrounded by newer high-rise structures.
I highly recommend checking this area out at night, as it has tons of charm and personality, and the people tend to be very friendly and down to earth. Compared to busy Shibuya or other well-known entertainment districts in Tokyo, Sangenjaya still consists of a crowd of primarily local people.
The movie starts and ends at Sangenjaya Station, I pass most of the major nightlife areas while circling the entire area.
