We decided to podcast yet again this week because, honestly, you demand it (you know who you are). The show must go on, and we had a lot to talk about this week - and sometimes we even sounded halfway intelligent! Like when we talked about the new Radeon cards, which bring the promise of $450+ midrange cards to AMD buyers. And we looked at the very compact - and ridiculously well-equipped - FragBox from Falcon Northwest (you know, that little PC that looks like a Playmate cooler?).

No, Arc isn't EOL - just the flagship card made by Intel. It doesn't bode well, as Battlemage seems pretty far away, and the A770 seems to have run its course with A750 getting all of Intel's marketing attention lately.
Beyond that, Intel decided to re-brand their desktop CPUs starting with the next generation Core, and Ultra is added to the mix to keep you on your toes. Also, other topics (in the list below). FYI, Josh was traveling, so he was absent this week - but don't worry, Kent stepped up with his own burger review. It's another week, and another PCPer podcast! Recorded August 10, 2022.
News is first, and while it may be mid-August of 2022, NVIDIA had a bad quarter in Q2 2023 already. Not the first thing we'd do if time travel was realized, but it takes all kinds. We also discuss reports of the AMD Ryzen 7000 DDR5 sweet spot, look at some re-purposed retro tech from the 2022 Hackaday Prize winners, and look into Gigabytes replacement for the Z690i Ultra mobo. Plus mandatory Intel Arc news (they went PRO), and the usual 'gaming quick hits' and depressing 'security corner'.
Featured this week is Kent's third installment in the 'upgrading in mid-2022' blog, with further explorations of the major and minor components he chose, and why.

We are back at it YET AGAIN, podcasting about another week's worth of PC hardware and software news. It's the kind of content you can only find in a few thousand other places, so you really don't want to miss this one.
Note: we recorded this BEFORE the Gamers Nexus video on Arc graphics with Tom (and Ryan) from Intel was published. You can watch that here: https://youtu.be/AN8ZAf15DrM
And no, it didn't end up being "50 min and 36 sec" after all. Somehow the running time ballooned up to a whopping 50 minutes and 39 seconds between rendering and uploading. Where did the extra 3 seconds come from? ALIENS. (Probably.)

We also talk about the crazy Rocket 4 Plus Destroyer, and the A500 mini - which is the mini console that Amiga fans have been waiting for, unless it isn't. Full list of topics in the timestamps below.

OH yes, another GPU you probably cannot get easily, it's the RTX 3060! A great new case in the Fractal Design line up, the Meshify 2 Compact (looks good in purple, go see it). Also we review a gigantic mouse mat and a new gaming mouse from Corsair, the Katar Pro XT. Diablo is going MMO, Apple M1's might be wearing out SSDs, Firefox tosses its cookies in a jar, and Sabrent offers an inexpensive USB-c home for NVME.
Enjoy all that and more!

Latest on Intel 11th Gen CPUs, Western_Digital Game Dock and a discussion of the AMD FidelityFX DLSS competitor. Epic game store exclusives, Android on your Switch, CD Project Red gets really punked, and a review of the HyperX Quadcast S mic. Don't miss out on the Apple VR glasses or the SX CPU chatter as well. Finally, we finish off this non-star-studded episode with our not yet patented Picks of the Week!
★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★In this high-powered edition of the PC Perspective podcast the legendary Allyn Malventano (or is it Maltavino?) joins us for TWO HOURS of spirited tech talk. Expect technical discussion, leaking Tesla screen props, angry rants about display latency, and intense burger talk. And probably some other things like MSI Suprim GPU reviews, TridentZ ram for Ryzen, and a Monstargear DIY keyboard.
★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★Seems like Wednesday continues to happen, at least once each week so here we go streaming out the tech variety show again!
On this episode:
- AMD Earned well in 2020
- Scalpers Got $ too unfortunately
- RTX 30 Laptops are coming, but how to tell the difference?

Also we take a look at our reviews for the Corsair 5000D Airflow, the mini LIVA Q1D, and look at 3nm coming soon from TSMC.
Nvidia launches a new Pascal card and we look at the Intel leaks for Rocketlake-S pricing. Plus MORE! Enjoy.

Burger update and so much more. Come along for our first show of 2021!
Welcome to the oversized year end podcast where we bid 2020 a buh-bye. Please welcome special guests Jim Tanous and Kent Burgess as well! In fact, this is our Christmas special and New Years show all action packed into one show. We talk about MiniPCs, the use of Chkdsk on SSDs, Rage Mode, our review of the Azulle Byte 4 and some of the "top" stories of 2020.
★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★Tackling the weekly topics, some of them getting a real beating over this almost 2 hour episode. Cyberpunk 2077 check in and its too bad about your console. Random numbers, encryption, and the Solar Winds hack, oh my. Something bad can be bought from Microcenter! The Nvidia / reviewers controversy, a few points. Actual reviews for the Sapphire Nitro+ 6800 and Western Digital Blue SN550 NVME drive. Photography only comes up a few times and then more of course.<
★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
Back with a hard hitting podcast, talking about Cyberpunk 2077 demands, continued production of the 6000 series AMD reference design cards, the 6900XT performance & availability, and reviews of the Phanteks Shift Air 2 and the Lian Li LANCOOL 215. Oh, there's also the rise of the ultra wide screen monitors as a viable immersive gaming experience (and affordable!), and 10c / GB TLC NAND.

Josh has a meaty story to share and also tells a Dad Joke (tm). Featuring Chet.

★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★Prepare yourself for a feature-length podcast this week, packed to the brim with the panel's thoughts about Ryzen 5000 CPU performance, value, and which new CPU represents the "sweet spot". We also look at AMD's latest peek at Radeon RX 6000 performance ahead of next week's launch, explore Apple's M1 SoC launch, spend altogether too much time talking about the photos from Brett's Fractal Meshify 2 review, and chat about various other topics.
★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★On the docket this evening we recap the AMD live event, and examine the details of the multiple RX 6000 GPU announcements, seemingly rivaling and topping(!) the recent performance levels set by Nvidia’s 30 series. Impressive, and we’re looking forward to testing these new cards. Swerve over to the AMD Xilinx acquisition and AMD’s great quarter – some might say it was Epyc. Har! Also in this show: Ryzen & RTX in the same laptop, it can happen with ASUS — Cyberpunk 2077 Delay!? — Nvidia Reflex isn’t talked about much yet, but it’s interesting!
★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★This week we bring you news of Intel's exit from the consumer SSD space, more AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series rumors (the clocks are HIGH), Silicon Motion's long-awaited entry into the PCIe Gen4 SSD controller arena, Google kills off yet another product, high framerate gaming performance, NVIDIA possibly moving 30 Series GPUs to 7nm TSMC in 2021, Corsair's new 4000D AIRFLOW case, and our picks of the week!
There's also a random Zotac 1x GPU.

★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★Tonight we discuss the upcoming Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 series and how they achieve their IPC uplift, do some educated guesses on how the Radeon 5000 GPU series will perform - minus what-ever Sebastian says about TDP's, and fawn over a screamin' fast WD PCIe 4 NVME SSD. Additionally there's some "uninterrupted" discussion on the Apple iPhone 12, complete with music and endless scrolling - very moving, don't miss. We round out the night featuring an interesting AIO from be quiet!, Samsung mobile card storage, and a Corsair KATAR gaming mouse.
You could become hungry during the hamburger sequence. Be informed, no complaints later - they will be ignored.

Nyet! We’re not done! We’ve included the aftershow here, with maybe some special OG PCPer guests! Show #600! Wooooohooo! Yeah.
★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★This week we have another exploration of various personal computer-related topics, including a software fix for the NVIDIA capacitor drama, an alleged Ryzen 5800X performance leak, and QLC NAND invades the PCIe Gen4 SSD space.
And, as if that wasn't enough, we also chat about some very early access to the upcoming Xbox Series X console, discuss some space games, and take a first look at a secure USB drive. And probably some more stuff, but it's been a long week and who can remember everything.
Oh, we also do our world-famous picks of the week AND there may be an actual burger update this time!
