張仲明教授畢業於美國天普大學 (Temple University)，專長為免疫學與病毒學，早年在研究SV40大T抗原上曾有重要發現。1978年返臺後受邀任教於陽明醫學院，並擔任微生物及免疫學研究所的首任所長。在所長任內，張教授發揮善於組織學術社群的長才，並留心研究趨勢，在1980年代臺灣推動B型肝炎防治政策時，引領微免所扮演破解病毒秘密的重要角色。1990年代起，懷抱教育理念且管理能力卓越的張教授，先後擔任陽明教務長、國衛院處長、逢甲大學董事長等職位，為這些學術單位的健全發展奠定基礎。性格浪漫卻又理性務實的張教授，是「築夢踏實」一詞的最佳詮釋者。
Dr. Chung-Ming Chang graduated from Temple University in the United States, specializing in immunology and virology. He made important discoveries in SV40 large T antigen studies in his early years. After returning to Taiwan in 1978, he was invited to teach at National Yang-Ming Medical College(NYMMC) and served as the first director of the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology. During his tenure as director, Dr. Chang used his talents in organizing academic communities, paid attention to research trends, and led the Institute to play an important role in deciphering the secrets of the virus when promoting hepatitis B prevention and control policies in Taiwan in 1980s.
Since the 1990s, Dr. Chang, who embraces educational philosophy and has excellent management skills, has successively served as the dean of Academic Affairs of Yang-Ming, Director of the National Health Research Institute(NHRI), and Chairman of Feng Chia University, laying the foundation for the sound development of these academic units. Dr. Chang, who has a romantic personality but is also rational and pragmatic, is the best interpreter of the phrase "Building Dreams with Solidity".
