AFC Wimbledon pushed Premier League Chelsea until the very end on Wednesday evening as they lost out 2-1 in the Carabao Cup.
For the best part of 45 minutes it appeared that a famous upset was on the cards as James Tilley buried a 19th minute penalty to put the Dons in dreamland.
However Chelsea notched a penalty of their own in stoppage time at the end of the first-half, meaning the teams headed in level at the break.
Ultimately the game was decided by a World Cup winner as second-half substitute Enzo Fernandez scored a fortuitous effort after a defensive mishap.
Nevertheless this was a performance that had that famous Wimbledon spirit at its heart as we pushed our London rivals to the very end with every player in a white shirt putting in a shift for the badge.
